You lead the way. Other than Rice Howard Way, 104 St and right around the arena you wouldn't catch me walking around downtown by myself after 10:00. Nope nope nope the crazies love the dark, dingy downtown too much for me to risk it, and believe me I am not a person who lives in fear, just...

Has anyone heard if anything is happening with this project, or is it dead in the water? I'm getting real sick of looking at that mess of a site.

Ya nothing screams cosmopolitan like a $10.00 t-shirt from H&M and then going to Braven after and ordering fries because that’s all your H&M budget allows. Seriously though it’s better that the stores you mention go into the City Centre Mall renovation and leave the weed, booze, restaurants...

Why would I inconvenience myself when I am happy that space is being used for cannabis. I am sure a lot of residents that live in the district will also be happy it’s there.

Not for weed smokers, and there’s a lot of them. Cannabis equals entertainment and fun to me, which is what I plan to go to the district regularly for. Name brand clothes equals WEM or Amazon Prime to me, not a pathway to enhancing an experience

I have nothing against a weed store being there, seems pretty convenient actually.

I think one of DT Edmonton’s biggest problems is the absence of any decent streetscaping to make it pedestrian enticing. With the exception of a couple of pockets (104St and Rice Howard Way) half the trees look dead, it has inadequate and ugly lighting, there are no nice places to sit, the...

I have had friends from Boston and San Diego visit and remark how bad our downtown is. I agree. Aside from 104 st there is not one other nice, engaging, street you want to spend time on. Here is hoping Ice District keeps prompting investment to change that 🤞

Liquor, weed, sports, bars, concerts, restaurants and gambling and several banks to pay for it all. This place has got everything I need!!

Is the Boston Pizza staying there?

The last thing I think of when I am downtown Edmonton is this a city with significant historical architecture. My point being architecturally too much has already been demolished and its far too gone for its identity to be attached to its history, so I say commit to full redevelopment so at...

Why would it take 10 years if it’s a continuous construction?

I was looking at them last week and it’s definitely just a metal cover.

Does anyone know why on the larger three sided media towers they only put two screens instead of three? The flat grey medal on the one side makes them look awkward and disproportionate.

Um is this now a Starbucks business model forum? If so can we also discuss the closing of the Red Robin restaurants and their failed business policies?

I am indeed aware, so I’ll piggyback on what I already said. There is already a movie theatre a block away, there is concerts/comedians and other endless entertainment streaming through Rogers Place, the plaza is going to have an ice rink in winter and other live entertainment in warmer months...

How many places do people want for entertainment that everyone is so worried about banks going in? Off the top of my head in that area already there is Kindred, Baijiu, Alchemy, Braven, Joeys, Canadian Ice House, Boston Pizza, Deluxe Burger Bar, Banquet, Home and Away Bar, Marriott Lobby Bar...

Exactly what I was wondering, yikes that's a long timeframe. Does this mean 104th ave is going to be partially closed for another 3 years?

Half the height of Stantec, how do you figure? Stantec is 66 stories and this is 16. At 16 stories I would hardly call that big, but if your satisfied with a short, plain box because there are a ton of others around the country, well all the power to you. Low expectations are definitely not a...

I'm confused what people like about this building, it looks like a plain little 16 story box that you might find in a city like Regina. It has no unique aesthetics whatsoever and is completely disproportionate to the other two towers. It seems like a real missed opportunity to do something...
