Thompson Residences (Freed Developments) - Real Estate -

When I was visiting someone there last month I was shocked at how it had not been respected by the residents. In the elevator area of the parking garages, it appeared as if half the building had decided to write messages with a sharpie all over the walls. And I'm not talking about some temporary...

Developers should not be allowed to call a windowless room a Bedroom!!

Am I the only person here that actually PREFERS the indoor bedroom layout? I guess I should qualify that though. Living in the core, and especially in lower buildings, I find that a layout with a bedroom that is further back in the unit but still allows natural light is better. When are right...

King East Condos (Lamb Development, Hyde Park, Sher Corp ) - Real Estate -

I think the first one is pretty good. Decent sized bedroom and well-separated den. There probably won't be room for a dining table unless you butt it up against the end of the island. And it will have a higher-floor view...even if it's not facing downtown. The other one has much more wasted...

    Toronto Toronto | 629 King Residences (was Thompson Residences) | 53.34m | 15s | Freed | Saucier + Perrotte

At the meeting I attended on this, they said that there would not be a service entrance on Stewart. I belive they said there would be a parking garage entrance maybe, but that's it.

550 Wellington West (Freed Developments) - Real Estate -

Is this ice rink/restaurant area the one at ground level on Wellington? I'd read that there would be an ice rink here in the winter, but I hadn't heard it would be a patio during the summer. How annoying will that be for residents with ground level entry right there? Or maybe I'm not...

Forum Issues Since Relaunch (Jan 20, 2010)

Ed, the quick relaunch and "work in progress" is much appreciated. And although this thread is where people are airing their greivances so to speak, definitely know that so much of the work done so far is great.

Bay St. beckons as Wall St. fumes

Agreed. This is probably a way to get all the American news networks talking about the threat to the banking industry, and to rile up the Fox News crowd to rally against the regulations in hopes of turning public sentiment against Obama's plan. The Canadian banking system is much more regulated...

What do you guys think of this floor plan and finishes?

Is this layout from that condo that will be built at Adelaide and Charlotte? I remember looking there and this layout completely rings a bell. Can't remember the name though. I'm in agreement with those that think you should lose the Murphy bed. It makes that room unusable for almost anything...

I don't think there is any way they could just suddenly offer up all the amenities at 550 Wellington to hundreds of other people. If that turns out to be the case ( which I doubt), I would be extremely mad if I was someone at 550 Wellington...suddenly there are hundreds more people with key...

Forum Issues Since Relaunch (Jan 20, 2010)

Put me down as someone who LOVES how the new version works on my mobile phone. For iPhone users, just viewing the standard html site is far better than the "mobile" version that there used to be...once that mobile version showed up, it actually had the opposite effect for me. I STOPPED...

How small can condo units in Toronto get?

Yes, plus another advantage is that you're not as close to your hallway door. Hallway noise always seeps into units, and I have no idea how people stay asleep when they have those "bedrooms" right by the door in smaller units like this.

How small can condo units in Toronto get?

I really think this is a good layout for 490 square feet. Some people might say the hallway is "wasted space", but I think it helps to divide the space nicely and could actually make the place feel bigger. Despite it appearing in the layout, I think you'll have to give up on a kitchen table...

    Need a new rule

Except many, if not most, threads start before pictures of the project are readily available. And just because someone lacks a photo doesn't mean they don't have something relevant to contribute.

    67 Portland St. Condo (???,???,8s)

This was presented at this week's planning meeting in addition to the 621 King proposal. Essentially, it covers up the blank concrete wall at the south end of 75 Portland. It's a small building, with only 16 units, and is (if I remember right) 8 stories along Portland, but descending to 3...

    what is torontocondoforum?

This site (Urban Toronto) does really well coming up in Google search results because there are so many posts on so many topics, but all within a certain theme. My guess is that someone has stripped the content from here in order to rise up in the Google search ranks so they can show how good...

    City Removing Garbage Bins Downtown

I completely understand why there is a photo of someone measuring the distance to curb. Many of these have been placed what feels like the middle of the sidewalk so it completely messes up two way foot traffic. There's one on King West at around Brant that I can think of that is a good example...

How small can condo units in Toronto get?

Yes, just look at what it's done to Manhattan, Paris and London. Those are some truly horrid urban areas without any identity or culture.

    Monopoly Canada Edition

This is idiotic. I'm looking at this site and it's very unclear how votes are tabulated or compared. What does the percentage mean next to the city? The percentage of the total vote they have? The percentage of citizens from that city that have voted? Is it done as a raw total or a percentage of...

    Forum Changes Coming (Opinions Requested)

I'm not sure if I'm too late on this, as I know it's happening this weekend, but I'd love for the search functionality to be improved. Right now, if you're searching for a building that has a name with three letters (Fly, Zed, Dia, DNA etc.), it is impossible to search for it through the...
