Is that the same Mitchell Cohen of The Daniels Corporation?

Yes that s the brochure I was talking about. The top doesn't live up to the early promo shots (but it never does in architecture).

I saw a brochure for The Ritz Carlton in the Saturday National Post. It is great shot of dowtown with the Ritz but the top did not look as dramatic as the promo shot (the first shot in this thread). I hope it was just the angle, otherwise be prepared for a little disappointment. Did anyone...

'...suffers greatly....' that is certainly a matter of opinion, they have a perfectly good subway system to get around, and taxi's. Why do they need parking. I tried not owning a car here and it has been three years now. Would be even better with a more extensive transit system. London England...

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

I love in the article where it says that people don't have a place for lunch. Yes so lets build a multi-million dollar square so people can sit and have lunch three months out of the year. Please no public square where tax payer dollars are used to pay for a committee to come up with ideas...

    Toronto Toronto | Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

The issue is whether or not the ground is frozen. In December the ground is usually not frozen yet. If it is frozen then it's like a little back-hoe on an ice cube. Hard on equipment and costly because it will take longer.

Whenever I am in the area I like to look around the parking lot to see if there are any notices that it (the parking lot) will be closing. I would expect that to be the first sign.

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

One of Toronto's hottest would-be addresses, One Bloor, won't be auctioned off to settle unpaid debts. At least not yet. A court proceeding scheduled yesterday that was to decide the fate of the 67-storey, condo-hotel-office tower was cancelled after receivership proceedings by the...

I am not a 'structural' person but this building looks really light on structure. It looks like a real life deck of cards building.

Just noticing the irony of the first post on this blog May 27, 2006 ' Does anyone know the status of 1 Bloor East..' We have come so far... ha ha

Hey good point SimonP. I wish now Bazis lost control of this development, it will be really, really disappointing to see the building reduced to a 'nothing special about it' building, especially at that corner. I would rather an empty lot for a few years if it means something great in...

Shops at Don Mills (redevelopment, Giannone Petricone/Pellow + Associates )

Winter Something else maybe to consider, apparently a store lives and dies by it's Christmas season sales, if thats true and Don Mills is competing with malls, where would you like to shop especially if you have kids, a mall will have Santa, a big tree and decorations, but so will Don Mills and...

Shops at Don Mills (redevelopment, Giannone Petricone/Pellow + Associates )

Rapid Transit and Condo's I see that the rapid transit proposals for Toronto arterial roads has a street car line right by The Don Mills Centre on Don Mills Road. I wonder what affect that would have on the centre. On site I also saw a sign for a condo office which I guess is planned there...

Shops at Don Mills (redevelopment, Giannone Petricone/Pellow + Associates )

Yes a little condescending but you said there was no cover, I have been there so I don't know why you would say that when there are overhangs and a covered walk from the parking garage to the centre square. The parking garage is not in the corner, poor perception I guess. I am sure C.F knows...
