On the subject of expanded parking, does anyone know of any plans to upgrade Mimico GO? I heard 2012 as well, but nothing concrete.

Thats a cool system and all (NY Open Payment) but how does it handle passes and concession fares? I'd rather a system that can accomodate both.

Wouldn't it then become a privacy and security issue? Lets say a blind passenger uses his or her card and it triggers an audio announcement to the effect of "YOU HAVE 320 DOLLARS LEFT ON YOUR ACCOUNT". I'm no expert here but, regardless of disability it doesnt seem like that type of solution...

presto didn't make this decision, the transit agencies did. They wanted to ensure people weren't carrying around negative balances for extended periods.

Yes. In the event your e-purse load was done after a bus/surface vehicle began service for that day, it would not be "aware" of your most up to date balance.

The delay is due to the fact that buses aren't actually wired to the system, they function independently and information is uploaded at the conclusion of their day. Think of it this way, if a bus pulls out of the terminal at 5am, it is no longer synchronized with the system as of that point...

You assumed correctly, it is token price. Ive tapped on a few times at Union (quickly and conveniently I might add) and have enjoyed the fact that only $2.50 was being deducted from my presto balance.

Just looking at the google map shot of the Denison Rd crossing and area, and I noticed the bridges over Black Creek, just south down the lines. What is the plan for expanding capacity on these? Will new bridges need to be built soon?
