Just 125 lockers? Uh oh, I bought my 2br suite in 2006 and was supposedly placed on the 'wait list' then. What are the odds of me securing a locker?

Progress towards completion is very rapid. Insulation and lighting installations for the lobby are well underway; and (this one was relayed to me by an acquaintance) the crane to take down the crane has arrived. Once this baby is lit, all eyes will be on Charles Street!

Let's not get carried away, for crying out loud. This is merely the first day - day one of Great Gulf's ownership of the site. On the other hand, I do agree that a PR team with chutzpah, would have come up with something better to say. One positive note: They seem to be calling the site...

I'm surprised Great Gulf was willing or preferred to let go of Bazis' much pre-sold skyscraper in favour of starting from scratch. I actually liked the Varacalli design, and thought the corner would rock with the retail/Sofitel Hotel component. In any case, I do hope that an innovative design...

Well, let's not forget that the "hat" will be at least 12 feet high, so there's plenty of room to let the sun in while keeping most of the terraces in the shade and shielded from rain!!

I dunno, but it seems like the perfect spot to have a latte from the Starbucks down the street while you're waiting for guests to arrive.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the "hat" extends several feet from the building's floor plate in all directions. Can't wait to see it lit up:)

When the scaffolding is removed, more of the "hat's" ceiling will be visible, making it appear a bit wider. Overall, I'm really happy with the way this building is looking. The lobby will be spectacular, the black brick, wrap-around glass balconies, and eventually, the "hat" will truly make...

I think the floors shown on the 6th floor unit are the same as what I got. I also took the "standard" scavolini kitchen cabinets, but I opted for white, with the white cesar stone countertops and a black stone backsplash for contrast. I had a cabinet inferiority complex since I really liked...

These were the "standard" finishes (except they wanted more cash to delete carpeting in the bedrooms) and they and look great! Dventura is right that they overcharged to include wood laminate in the bedrooms, but I went for it 'cause I didn't want carpeting and it would probably cost more to...

Well, it would be great if the hat could be a bit higher - an extra layer of scaffolding would be a great indication - but as it is now, I would not be surprised if that's it. From the renderings, it's hard to ascertain exactly how high the "hat" will be.

Dventura is absolutely right on that one. The two layers of forms above the penthouse suites are for the CASA "hat". It will be stunning when finished.

I wouldn't be too worried. Every piece of property is an "investment" in one way or another. The fact that the developer offered discounts during a rough economic patch will not be relevant once the building is complete and fully occupied. The important thing is to "invest" for the long term...

ASEK, would you be able to see the CN tower from CASA's 30th floor at the (NORTHWEST corner suite)? Just wondering...it looks like College Park Residences may obstruct that view.

This is not so much a financial mess as a legal one. With a substantial number of units having already been pre-sold, isn't there a way to get out of the Lehman Bros. entanglement, so this project can proceed?
