I dunno if this was known before, but seems like the TTC just realized they'd lose out on a lot of money by not implementing PRESTO: Since Transit City is being funded entirely by the province IIRC, then the TTC basically has no choice but to put PRESTO on the whole system.

Looks like GO is preparing to buy the portion of the Lakeshore West corridor in Toronto - there's a tender for a market value estimate on their website for the Yonge St to 29th St segment (almost to Long Branch).

In actual news, the TTC is recommending adoption of PRESTO, subject to conditions. Haven't had time to read this to see if there's anything of substance in it.

The 407 Transitway station conceptual design is available ahead of the commission meeting next week.

As nfitz said, there's less than 6 years, no way a subway will be built in that amount of time. The Spadina extension was fully funded almost 3 years ago and is still at least 6 years away..
