I live near the entrance to the amenities area for my building, and it's been fine. The most frequent noises are from people coming and going through the entrance to the gym. It's a heavy door with a loud fob reader and latch. I got used to it after a while, I guess. I can hear the loud talkers...

Just want to re-iterate what others have said about the local focus of UT's forums. I only really started reading UT a few months ago, and it's become one of my 2 sources of discussion for local news and issues with the other being reddit's toronto sub. I've been leaning more on UT than reddit...

It's just semantics, but I would use "glamorous" for Yorkville. Part of the "glamour" is in its reputation and public perception, I suppose. "Glamour" elicits images of high fashion, fancy cars and red carpet lifestyles for me. I'm not sure how I would describe St. Lawrence Market and area...

I agree that transparency is definitely a good thing. But in the case of salaries, transparency without adequate context and understanding can be dangerous, I think. For better or worse, a person is easily coloured simply by how much they make, and often negatively and possibly undeservedly.

Ah yes, must be it. Thanks for the link! No more purchases for me though. I was interested in some resales a few months ago, but the prices were a bit higher than I was willing to fork out. Nice looking finishes from what I saw.

I just drove by. There's a huge lineup of maybe 100 or so people presumably for some sort of sales opening. I might go back later to see what the commotion is all about.

There was a full house of equipment on site today. Not sure what sort of prep is going on though.

I strolled by today and saw an excavator, its mini-me and some drilling cylinders (not sure what they're called) that weren't there last week. A couple porta-potties were also dropped in. Baby steps, but I think it's finally going to get under way!

They've taken down the wooden boarding around the site with a wooden frame remaining, and a metal fence has been put in. Very mundane, I know. :) But maybe this is a sign that there's going to be some activity finally! Pardon the shitty iphone pics. :)

Totally agree with your observations re: the hot dog guys. I hadn't had any street meat in months and the nice weather had me itching for a sausage. They were the only stand open on Queens Quay, and I wasn't feeling like trekking any further for a lowly sausage. Boy, was I disappointed. The...
