I've never really understood why the right gets so hung up on the background/career/private lives of protestors. Does a person at a political protest/event have a bias? An agenda? Possibly linked to their life experience/situation. Of course - most of us do. Isn't that kinda the point of...

Honestly I've always suspected that pet insurance companies will do everything possible to avoid paying claims when a pet actually gets sick so I've taken an alternate approach. I set up a separate high interest savings account which I transfer a small amount of money to every pay period...

But I think that if he was getting information improperly through his employment he wouldn't have risked discussing the issue with security.

Agreed. In my mind if kids are allowed and food is served it's a "restaurant" and not a "bar" - even if the establishment is licensed.

I just wish that cyclists would stop turning left in front of me from the right hand lane (without signalling) at green lights when I'm intending to drive straight through (in the left lane). Most other things I'm willing to cut them some slack for.

Have they actually raised any money yet?

I might make that my new ringtone.

I respect your optimism! It just feels like I've had mine beaten out of me over the last year or so.

I don't know - I saw a member of Ford Nation on twitter today commenting on the Apollo story - "Good on them for helping others!!"

Actually turns out the quote was that they lost "$500,000". http://thetyee.ca/Blogs/TheHook/2014/03/06/Tor-Star-Rob-Ford-Coverage/

I did actually way, way back and have followed through with it. It's nice to see that others feel the same.

    Fixed that for you. :)

So the crux of Sue Anne Levy's column is basically "Rob is a failure because his personal problems have completely overshadowed and masked the really, really awesome, fantastic job he actually did as Mayor". Wow.

So Del Grande ALSO doesn't understand why elimination of revenue can't be counted as "savings"? This city is screwed.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Yeah.. That was a long time ago though. Maybe it's just my perception but these days people tend to be a little more flexible about how they view the simple usage of illegal narcotics. Personally, as much much as I despise Rob Ford I wouldn't actually support the idea of charges against him for...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Funny you say that... I had kind of convinced myself that Rob truly understood the truth about the pride flag bru-haha. That he knew perfectly well that it wasn't "replacing" the Canadian flag and he was spewing fake outrage in order to galvanize and fire up his base. Morally objectionable for...

Agreed. People need to get over the idea that the police would EVER arrest or try to arrest a sitting mayor for simply USING drugs. It'll never happen.
  18. M

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I think we knew he was abusive to his staff in sort of a "nasty boss" type of way... but threatening to "get" someone.. to me that's a whole new ballgame.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Anybody still have any sympathy at all for Rob Ford the person? Mine was gone long ago but just wondering if there was still some kicking around. Threatening to "get" city hall security staff is very likely the most outrageous and repugnant thing Rob Ford has done so far (that we know of).

I agree with you on the "missing three meetings" aspect of it. That seems reasonable and nobody wants to be the bad guy right now. But the other stipulation is that you can't be absent for three months. So do you think that council would be willing to tolerate that kind of absence? I suspect...
