    Rob Ford's Toronto

When I saw this picture (from after the show) my first thought was that Rob was on the verge of tears or at the very least coming apart. https://twitter.com/TOMayorFrod/status/440683516934639616/photo/1/large

Yep. Just tell them you've apologized and are movin' on.

Exactly. The violation of these rules in theory is supposed to bring with it some scorn and thus potential punishment from the voter. However, in this case "Ford Nation" believes in a vast media/legal/elitist conspiracy against their guy and will support virtually anything he does up to and...

The Fords long ago realized there aren't any penalties for violating those rules so why would they follow them?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Yeah I agree that it would be disappointing. To a lot of people in the pro-Ford camp that's "barely even a crime". He threatened some nasty criminals in order to get back a video that they were using to potentially blackmail him. Completely understandable that he would do that and the nasty...

I actually think he's fine to run (and win) if he's convicted. I think he literally has to be IN prison to be ineligible. https://www.nowtoronto.com/news/story.cfm?content=195301

Agree completely - I feel the same way. However, I don't think we can completely rule out the idea (like others here have mentioned) that Blair and the OPP commissioner parsed their words very carefully such that they're technically true, while still leaving open the possibility that Ford acted...

I think you're correct about the CBC standing by the story from what I remember. Also something I read more recently was that Blair passed the recordings up to the OPP who also confirmed his account. Trying to find a link. Edit: found it...

Looks like poor Rob and Doug had their feelings hurt today:

Do you still tip them after they do that? I always tip cab drivers but if one ever went on an unsolicited pro-ford rant to me I'd pay the fare and not a penny more. It's nasty and spiteful but I don't really care. I'm not paying EXTRA to listen to that crap.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Not sure because I don't hold them myself as I mentioned. Like you, I find them somewhat morally objectionable. Yet lots of people do hold those opinions - that's kind of the crux of "debate". Again though - as has been explained to me here we're not looking for debate and that's fair. I'm...

Why exactly do we label any opposing point of view here as a troll? I disagree vehemently with RippedLikeStinson and I've spent my adult life debating against the point of view he brought forward but I don't see anything particularly offensive with the manner in which he/she presented it. I...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Good point but I guess it will depend on how the next election goes. If the suburbs vote overwhelmingly in favour of Ford due to rage, ignorance, the belief that you can build stuff for free and the childish desire to "stick it to the downtown elites" then I would say "No... we really don't have...

Looks like the fake Rob Ford twitter account has been suspended (@TOMayorFrod). According to the owner no warning or explanation was given.

Talking to them would just frustrate your further. I've heard interviews with these people where the interviewer has pushed the issue and they flat out deny that those things exist. "I don't know that to be true" or failing that "I don't care about those things as long as he saves me money".

Disagree with this. Lots of blue collar workers (particularly those in skilled trades) do it because they'd rather work with their hands than sit at a desk and shuffle paper. Personally, I have virtually zero hand eye coordination so I shuffle paper.

The Canadian flag is indeed still flying and it's on a flagpole that's taller than the one flying the Pride flag. That's the part that everybody seems to be missing - there are multiple flag poles at city hall and the one being used for Pride today is the one that's often used to represent...

From what I understand the evidence does indeed show that if you eliminate the "hot spot" you can actually prevent suicide overall. But in the case of the viaduct it didn't seem to actually work. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminous_Veil More detail here...

Honest question though - do you think most political staffers actually GET overtime pay? Most people that work (even salaried employees) are entitled to overtime pay but many people don't actually get it because the expectation exists for you to just get the job done. Saw this in a Toronto...
