Speaking of, wonder if/when we'll see the MP40s receive refurbishment. The first 27 or so are approaching the 20 year mark soon, so I feel refurbishment may be on the way soon.

Most of the MP40s seem to be fairly sooty nowadays. I don't remember it being this bad of a problem though in the past, since COVID I'd say the units have become more dirty.

Odd. Wonder what could need repairing since afaik the car hasn't been used on any in service trains.

Also I'm guessing since the initial order of locos has been expanded from 13 to 27, and the tender still hasn't been decided, we probably won't be seeing any locos delivered to GO in September of this year as was initially reported.

Right now, barely any info. Only thing I really know is that the 9 Series 7 cab cars (242 - 250) have been sent plus like 10 or more coaches, nothing has been delivered back to GO. Seems MX is more interested now in just just repainting the Series 7 cars in house (several of the 25xx and 26xx...

I just wonder when we will finally see one in active service again. Minus the two seemingly midset test runs 206 had on February 16th and May 1st of 2023, none have run on any sort of train. And 201 now makes 11 that have been delivered back to GO.

A Barrie Line GO Train collided with a semi truck earlier today (haven't heard of any injuries) Not my picture but here is the damage to the cab car.

So looking at some old articles, this one says here that the Series 7 cars Alstom in Thunder Bay are refurbishing were supposed to start being delivered back to GO in 2023. Yet I have not heard nor seen of any them being delivered back to GO, guessing the struggles at the plant have slowed down...

And maybe this is the way GO would finally be able to retire them from regular passenger runs without having to completely withdraw them from the fleet. I mean with 27 to 53 locomotives on the way, that would make the F59s fairly redundant on passenger runs.

Here's a random theory I've seen being floated around. Perhaps the F59s will be overhauled to do MOW work, since GO will start dispatching work trains out of the Obico yard, and they probably will need locomotives to run those trains.

It being right next to the Series X cab car really just shows how the BiLevel has evolved over the years

I'm assuming the F59 overhaul will have them be closer spec wise to what WCE's F59 is like.

Makes sense. Just to note though GO has 91 locomotives, 83 MPI units + the 8 F59s.

So now the question becomes, if GO were to get all 53 locomotives, where would they get all the cab cars necessary to run with them?
