The current SRT is impossible to convert to an HRT route. You'd have to build an entirely new tunnel.

That reduces the chance they'll walk further to get to the bus. People will only walk so far, no matter how fast the transit goes.

Bathurst is 700m away from Chaplin and up a relatively steep hill. That may be walking distance for some people, but not for everyone. Edit: It's also uphill BOTH ways, since the top of the hill is Old Forest Hill Road.

You're assuming "enhanced bus service" was actually going to be enhanced in some way. For all we know he intended to run an express bus from Finch West to Humber College and leave it at that.
