LOL on ladyscraper's comment...but...sigh... Amsterdam Brewery is awesome. Its convenience is amazing; they open late until 11pm and I live a block away from it. They also hold the summer outdoor movie nights. Sad to see this go.

Here's info from today's G&M: "With Tuesday’s launch, Bixi began stocking bike stations from Jarvis Street to Kensington Market and from Bloor Street to Lake Ontario. Within two weeks, it will have 1,000 bikes spread across 1,500 docking points at 80 stations."...

3 bedroom condos are great for urban families to add to the growing demographics but these sizes are a total joke. What Clewes says below is very true in terms of urbanism but, man, 303 sq.ft. studios is pushing the threshold. Sigh... The object, of course, is to make living small not only...

Their marketing is great but this building is butt ugly. Also, too bad that it'll obscure the nice skyline views of its two nicer neighbhours.

Also, this critical mass on the downtown road system will put pressure on the politicians to address road safety and bike lanes. They'll also realize tourists will enjoy this type of activity by touring the city. It'll definitely boost our tourism appeal.

Yea! Finally. There are so many good things to say about Bixi. The Queens Quay/York shot reminds me so much of Amsterdam's typical streetscapes...oh, how I reminisce. The first time I tried a Bixi bike was 2 years ago back in Montreal, I too finally had the chance to see Habitat 67 and the...

Very bold statement. I like it except for the elevation on the Yonge side at grade level, at least a bit more animation/activity on the main street.

Article: Should Toronto Protect Its Important View Corridors?

Exactly! I share the same sentiments. We need to preserve both physical and visual history now before all traces of it can only be found in those books of Toronto-the-past that we all love to look at. London respects their rich historical vernacular, Toronto can and should too. It seems like...

I was commenting more on what the building typology offers to the urban fabric, diversity of uses and users but less so on the architectural language. It’s great to see a project like this along with TIFF, Paintbox, and Studio integrate community uses (film, cultural hub...

It's great to see the reurbanization of this district with these types of uses. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this condo may have 3 bedroom units which is great for the family with kids demographic. The continuous balconies are a great addition too.

Two thumbs up! You'll also get that nice forested look too from Prince Arthur Ave.

I think what will make it the second tallest condo/hotel is the addition of the onion shaped half dome and spire reaching upwards just passing the Scotia by a few measly metres.

It's not that far-fetched. Some condos already have that rule in place, mine only allows for white curtains or blinds. Other condos too restrict the type of furniture you're allowed to include such as bikes to prevent visual clutter. Beautiful shot btw!
