Duca Canterbury Place Retirement Res & Office Bldg (NYCC, 17s, Hendrik Op 't Root) COMPLETE

I have seen a lot of complaints about this building on previous posts. What would you have preferred to see?

If there were a proposal out there, it would have surfaced earlier rather than now I would expect. The planning windows and the administrative steps are long and there are many players to satisfy, not just the Board.

Thanks for the update photos Drum; I was planning to suggest that someone should post some as they are up to floor 12 as of last Friday. The crew is humming along; they have averaged about one floor a day for the last couple of weeks.

    Toronto Toronto | Bridgepoint Hospital | 61.87m | 10s | Bridgepoint Health | Diamond Schmitt

Reconstruction in health care moves slowly, with many approvals required; Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Infrastructure Ontario, the local municipality, etc. I would expect that the tearing down of the half round building is still planned. It just will take some time. The budget is...

If you are in the area and you look carefully from the right distance and angle, you can see the camera at the top of Spring. At least I think I can see it there.

One further comment on the Uptown theatre collapse during the demolition work. The inquest and subsequent investigation's delayed demolition work at other projects around the city and put several projects seriously behind schedule, such as at least one hospital project where demo work was...

UD2 If you look on the south side of the site (right hand of picture, Poyntz Ave.) you will see a row of piles that have been sunk already. There is also a row on the west side and a few on the north; the progress has been slow on the north the last few days. I would expect excavation to...

Thanks for the illustration Investican, having the existing uses included helps. I had forgotten that a photo of the plaza to the north had been posted before and that Klieg had posted a drawing of the plan too.

Investican here is what you said before: Based on this I am not sure where the Condo will be; behind the Mr. Lube or is that just the townhouses that you refer to above?

Here are two comparative shots from today; Emerald and Hullmark. Much more activity in Hullmark compared to Emerald Park. At 3:00 in the afternoon little activity at all on the Emerald site. Size leaves a bit to be desired.

Update to my last post--I was wrong about the purpose of the excavation work; the contractor was replacing old sod with new landscaping. The buildings for the former Kia dealership are not being demolished as yet, perhaps to be used as part of a future sales office?

There was another thread that went over all of the machinations behind this site or else a series of articles in the Star about a year to a year and a half ago. I do not intend to go looking, but others probably will remember this. I was by the site on the weekend (have not been walking...

Re the western extension--remember that originally Mel Lastman had pushed for a western extension of the Sheppard line as well as an eastern one. The western line was halted because of costs and other political realities. There is infrastructure underground that was simply stopped. There...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Grand Genesis | ?m | 15s | Guizzetti | Aria

The sales office was completed and a tent added this week, serious public opening coming. That view from the rear of the project does not indicate the street with single family homes immediately behind the site. There will not be that much space between the end of that rear patio and the...

    Markham Toronto | World on Yonge | ?m | 31s | Liberty Development | Kirkor Architects

Investican: There was a plan for the plaza that was posted on the City of Toronto website a year or so ago--perhaps that was one of yours. It might have been discussed here, I am a little fuzzy on it now. It showed several towers and retail. But about a year later the Food Basics did a...

It will be interesting to see if this excavation is to be as deep as the Hullmark Centre. The area of the site is about the same.

Jivey's reference to the inside wall explains my question a week or two ago about the "pipes" jutting out diagonally from the main excavation. These were used to attach the inside wall (I am sure there are others who can explain the engineering and the proper jargon for this).

Grand Genesis (Guizzetti) - Real Estate -

Thanks for the info brotherfrank; I had looked at the Guizzetti Developments info on the website and I do know someone who is involved with the Yellow Brick House. I see from the Grand Genises website that the sales will be opening tomorrow .

Jivey and Belinda's photos give an idea of the size of that ramp for the trucks and the equipment. With all the rain earlier in the week, the site looked like a scene from the front in WW1 (the view from the trenches). Those pipes or rods sticking out of the walls of the shoring; are they...

OK I stand corrected..thanks investican. ...and back to Water Garden--for the last few days a contractor has been removing the landscaping from around the old Kia dealership as the first part of the project development. Sod has been removed and some digging was begun. There is a bin onsite...
