    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Here’s the view from the east end of the esplanade. Not much more to see at the moment but I’ll update when they’re done. Still lots of inattentive drivers going the wrong way down the street this morning.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

The Esplanade bike lanes went in overnight, and it’s now one way between Berkeley and Princess, and bus only between Princess and Sherbourne. It’s been fun watching drivers slowly realize the change this morning.

I agree it looks best at dusk. You can still see the three dimensionality of the diamonds but with the added bonus of the lighting. Contrary to many here, I don't think LED strips would look better; at least not if they were all solidly lit at the same intensity. Maybe if they faded between the...

I’m sure it’s annoying for the residents, but the new ridiculously bright TD logo really looks cool reflecting off the L Tower.

The photos I posted were not edited, but still looked brighter than it did in person, and this shot is way brighter, so it's definitely been enhanced. It looks great from certain angles (near the base, looking upward, particularly from one of the corners to show two sides), but is almost...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Interesting to see that Montreal is removing the kind of 2 way bike lanes that we're about to be installing all along Mill St and The Esplanade.

Isn't the window-wall at The Well mostly surrounded by red brick? I'd have loved to see red brick here. Also, the spandrel colour there seems to better blend in with the windows than the light grey used here. Plus basically everything else about that project is way better than this one. They're...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I remember reading somewhere that they plan on getting the bike lanes on the south side of Mill St / The Esplanade completed from Bayview to Sherbourne in 2021, and the rest of The Esplanade in 2022 after the Market tent comes down. I came within centimetres of being doored on The Esplanade by a...

Yeah, as bad as this is turning out, it will be nice to have some more street level retail and housing for more people vs a surface parking lot and a car dealership.

My last hope for this building was that the black and white contrast in the renders would provide at least a bit of visual interest, but they appear to be using the same grey spandrel for both the light and dark sections. The only contrast is the frame, which is black on some sections and an...
