All of the current development is much closer to the NAIT/Blatchford Market station (which will open early next year) than the Blatchford Gate station (which is the one that may stay closed), so this should only help speed things up.

At the meeting yesterday, council was told that a "solid connection" between the station and the current Blatchford development will be completed by the end of this construction season, so the NAIT station will be accessible for NAIT students and Blatchford residents from day one.

They’ve been doing a ton of work this construction season on the infrastructure for the NAIT lands. Last I checked, it appeared they were constructing the road from the energy centre to NAIT. Not direct to the LRT, but better than going around on Kingsway/Princess Elizabeth. I’m not sure why...

Are there lots currently zoned for 8 stories or would this require a rezoning?
