    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

That's the point - they made the street less walkable. They seem to have forgotten that people actually need to *walk* to the bus.

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

This photo shows me how the whole Hwy 7 project, including the BRT, made it a worse street. It used to be a very reasonable (for a suburb) 6 lanes of traffic for a pedestrian to cross. Now look at it. 9 lanes of traffic plus bike lanes plus BRT medians. This thing is as wide as the 401 collector...

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

I remember them mentioning something about some geotechnical challenges, but it seems ridiculous that there would only be 1 tunnel. Agincourt is getting 2 and it's in the middle of a suburban neighbourhood. I feel like if pushed hard enough the city/ML might consider a second one.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

I just checked and ML is even planning for a double stacked height through parts of LSE, USRC, LSW, Barrie, and Kitchener. I guess CN and CP just don't want poles to be built on their property.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Isn't the reason that freight double stacks of containers won't fit under the overhead catenary? CN and CP are unwilling to give up double stacks on their mainlines.

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

The lack of streetcar connection is extremely disappointing. It's at least 300m from the EB streetcar platform at Old Weston to where the new station will be. With 2 signals that need to be crossed, that can get close to a 10 min walk to get to the GO platform. They are setting this station up...

    VIA Rail

I actually requested that video in a comment on one of his previous videos on HSR.

    Toronto Toronto | Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I believe the negotiation process has been going on for a long time (years) and the city might be getting frustrated and as you pointed out don't want it to affect their timelines. As RCYC's letter indicates, my understanding is it wants to make sure it doesn't get booted again from their ferry...

    Toronto Toronto | Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

This land is owned by the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. It was adjacent to their private ferry terminal and parking lot on the west side of Parliament Slip, which they didn't own. They got booted from that property a decade or so ago and were relocated to land that I believe the Port leases to them...
