    Barrie Collingwood Railway (BCRY)

I was reading some documents from the city (I live in Barrie) and it appears that the BCRY is getting at least one new customer. They're rezoning a lot of land around the line for more industrial use, and it appears they're using it as an incentive to attract new businesses to the city.

The station building for Stratford station is REALLY nice. I’d love to see it get more use

you can thank CN for the slow speeds. They’ve done an awful job at maintaining the Guelph subdivision

And London is in a great spot for just that. They could do rail service to many smaller cities in the area such as St. Thomas, Tillsonburg, Goderich, Woodstock, etc.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

What would be awesome is to have the Missing Link constructed and to have the whole line from London to Union electrified and operating at 15 minute headways. That would make for an amazing backbone for transit in Ontario. Of course that would require lots of work and lots of money, but it's...

Regardless, they still use the sub (albeit through CN) to access the wider North American rail network. Making sure they can either use it when need or will still be able to connect with CN via the Stratford junction

They wouldn’t be negotiating with CN per say, but I imagine GEXR would be interesting/involved with the negotiations. I’m sure they’d want to make sure they can still use it when they need to if Metrolinx were to offer to purchase the rest of the Guelph subdivision

Well for starters they would probably have to grade-separate the part where the Guelph Sub crosses the Galt Sub

Was wondering why the train seemed to be going slower than a normal GO train. I'm guessing either the track condition isn't great or they're planning to test faster speeds down the line

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Honestly I think this is a good thing since GO is planning to move away from that model of Toronto suburb-downtown Toronto commuter service. This would be amazing for trips between anywhere on any parts of the line. London-Kitchener, Stratford-Guelph, London-Guelph, Brampton-Stratford, etc. That...

Never thought I'd see a GO train go beyond the GGHA, this would be awesome. Especially if the plan for all day server on the Kitchener Line is extended to London, it would make for an incredible intercity line in Ontario. Maybe even rivaling Lakeshore

I’m hoping with the Allandale mobility hub that the County moves all Linx buses to the GO station. Georgian and RVH are ok for connectivity. But Allandale is better in just about every way

    General railway discussions

I'm normal against the further removal of rails, but in this case I see no use for the ROW besides an extension of the trail. It's so short and out of the way that unless another business occupies the Stepan lands there's no real use for them beyond occasional equipment storage which can already...

    Barrie Collingwood Railway (BCRY)

But back on the Meaford Subdivision. I think a station in West Barrie/Essa could be warranted. After all the rails between the Utopia diamond and Allandale are still, and will remain operational. Question is where to put it

    Barrie Collingwood Railway (BCRY)

The row through Orillia are entirely a trail, with the exception of a warehouse just before Orillia station. It is possible to bring the rails back, is it worth the cost is another question entirely. Which is why I suggested the Bala sub, far less land and new rails would be needed

    Barrie Collingwood Railway (BCRY)

If HFR goes ahead the rails to Tweed will be revived, that's all I can think of

    Barrie Collingwood Railway (BCRY)

There’s a hyro corridor just outside of Barrie, weather they’d allow for rail service in said corridor is another question
