Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

We could call that the Finch Effect here..

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Both - they are 700m apart and its decently dense near Consumers. It's only 400m between the two, which is not a long walk. Could do something similar to Kennedy Station, locate the station in between Kennedy and Agincourt GO, with short tunnels either to an entrance fronting Kennedy or to the...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Goes to show you how back of a napkin proposals from youtube/twitter transit fans should be taken with a grain of salt, since they are usually ignorant of the unsexy engineering realities of these projects. I wouldn't be surprised if Mx even explored a Cherry Street TOC but did some rail...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

If a low-rise mall gets demolished for high-density, mixed-use residential, then rapid transit is doing exactly what its supposed to do

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I would imagine the LRT is going to use headway-based operation rather than schedule-based, meaning there is no "2 mins ahead of schedule". Something that hasn't been mentioned here yet is that the P3 consortium managing these projects wants to reduce door operations for two reasons: a) Running...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The TTC is operating it, and applying many of the streetcar operating rules to it. Expect speeds and rules similar to the St Clair and Spadina lines (i.e. not great)

Roads: Six Points Interchange Reconfiguration (City of Toronto, UC)

Metrolinx is currently planning the Dundas BRT which will do exactly that!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I know it gets narrow but the missing link between Manning and Shaw is very dangerous (not much space between streetcar tracks and patios) and needs to be corrected. Would be cool to see some kind of creative solution here (i.e. city builds the local businesses a narrower but more appealing...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

The suburban transit future increasingly looks like dedicated ROW, limited stop BRT in the suburbs, and a combination of abundant microtransit, cycling, AVs, and paratransit for the last-km to connect passengers to their homes.

TTC: Bloor Danforth Line 2 West Extension(s)

    4. 17km branch of the Kitchener line along the 401/403 ROW?

TTC: Bloor Danforth Line 2 West Extension(s)

No - not after building that huge regional bus terminal at Kipling

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

the biggest difficulty lies in determining who 'they' are, and if the 'they' who are willing to pay for signal upgrades is the same 'they' who is contractually on the hook for underperformance (...who is the same 'they' who has authority to allow new/innovative signalization strategies). point...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

In a world of finite policing resources, it literally is 'either or'. If you compare the number of deaths/injuries caused by vehicles to those caused by bikes, there's a pretty strong case for leaving the spandex gangs alone..

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

https://www.tfaforms.com/4911300 The TTC is considering re-using the SRT guideway and stations for bus replacement service

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

GO needs to finally get some bus service in the following corridors: Hamilton <-> Cambridge <-> K-W Hamilton <-> Guelph Brampton <-> Richmond Hill Newmarket <-> Uxbridge <-> Port Perry Barrie <-> Wasaga Beach (seasonal)

Which one of you is Mikey Ford?

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

as much as this program has been a bit of a joke since the beginning, its hard to argue that these stations won't bring big benefits to their local areas. I am looking forward to seeing this happen, and greatly improve the business case for fare integration in the process.
