They made sure to keep the towers as far away from Whyte as possible, so hopefully that will minimize pushback.

^I don't mind the midrises at all, but I think increasing the scale directly at the intersection would have been good. Even something similar in scale to the building going up on Kingsway and Broadway would have added a lot of prominence to the corner. I also think the architecture is slightly...

I don't really have any examples that spring to mind, there's plenty of different styles that could work. I think extra height would certainly help. Mostly though personally I think the architecture looks cheap and uses gimmicks to try and pass as decent, such as exposed concrete, coloured...

It's too bad that we're going to lose some beautiful homes in the process of densifying.

And in a lot of places, single family homes are just being replaced by even bigger single family homes. Especially on the west side.

    Edmonton | West Block | 60.35m | 16s | Beaverbrook | GEC

Would certainly help sell units, and possibly demand a higher price.

Wasting absolutely no time. Another parking lot gone, just like that.

    Edmonton | Symphony Tower Edmonton | ?m | 27s | Allen Wasnea | KENNEDY

This building is turning out really great

Yeah, they're the first buildings you see after exiting the trainstation, and that's a pretty prominent corner for drivers as well. The intersection is going to be a hub for so many different things, would have been nice to have some architecture that reflects the intersections importance.

Personally I think the old facade is pretty cool, especially the crest. In the renders and models though it doesn't look like they'll be keeping it

It seems so weird that Katz seemed so intent on creating the centerpiece for our downtown, but once he got to the final piece of the puzzle he decides to cheap out. Doesn't he realize that in doing so he will detract from the rest of his development?

    Vancouver | Brixton Flats | 21m | 6s | GMC | Gair Williamson

Simple, but pretty solid looking. Just a few extra architectural details could have improved it so much though.

    Vancouver | The Regent at King Edward | ?m | 6s | Regent International | GBL Architects

It's a shame that the condos being built right at Cambie and King Ed are by far the worst on the corridor in my opinion.

They didnt' demolition the whole facade? Are they planning on keeping the original facade and restoring it?

Not a fan of those driveways in the front, but not much you can do with our parking requirements and that lot size.

Thank you Dave for you involvement in this! Your ammendments are very reasonable, and I'm glad the city agreed to most of them. Too bad they wouldn't accept the last two, did they give reasoning? Glad there will be some retail (93 ave.), however is there really no other retail on site, such as...

Hope this gets going. This is by far the biggest dead zone in downtown.

This has the potential to be a fantastic development

I'm trying to find something redeemable in this project, but I don't know if there is

    Miscellaneous

Gross. Will most likely end up the commercial version of the Venetian... But at least that doesn't have a massive parking lot in front of it.
