I wouldn't count this one as moving forward yet. Speaking to a contractor working on this project, they are getting a little scared how quiet things are with the developer.

    Edmonton | Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

Question for anyone that may know... Costs have skyrocketed for most low-density housing projects (ie: lumber, appliances, etc). How does the cost of a high-density project compare to the last few years? Has concrete stayed fairly consistent, and therefore the gap between a wood structured...

^ Yes, those images all over their Instagram are what I am referring to. I don't think there will be any point of time - brand new or weathered over time - where the exterior will actually look that similar to the renders.

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Yeah, I can't see that one standing up to their renders, unless there are still some additional treatments to come. They were my favorite units pre-construction, and I think they are going to end up being my least favorite when everything is built.

Is that going to be the final treatment on the front exterior wood on the Ocheller townhouse units?

Walked by this morning and the signs are now up for Brown's Craft House. Took a sneak peak inside because the door was open and it looks damn near complete in there, I have to imagine they will be opening up soon.

Not totally sure why Vancouver is relevant to this discussion? Yeah, it's fantastic there...there is a long list of major cities in the world that have a better urban experience than Edmonton. The issue is that if you want to improve it...regardless of where the bar is set in other...

I need to disagree here. I walk these sidewalks regularly and I have no issues, and have to say I am completely underwhelmed by the final product just west of 109th. I would prioritize incentives to get the kind of businesses people want to walk to here over the infrastructure project. Maybe...

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Yes, the City would be able to set the terms of any sale of their land. That way it would be transparent what the expectations were before someone purchased, and they would likely factor those additional costs into the price they would be willing to pay for the land. Furthermore, the...

    Edmonton | 153 Street Mixed Use | 16m | 4s | Beljan Development | Next Architecture

I do not believe Beljan was the owner here, just advancing the rezoning on behalf of another landowner

If I was the adjacent residential developers, I would be hitting the ground as soon as possible. What a fantastic destination for anyone to live beside, not to mention Paul Kane park across the street. Best location in the city to live IMO.

    Edmonton | Iron Horse Line / Station Park | ?m | 6s | Beljan Development | Hodgson Schilf Evans

The design of the main floor looks good. It's not amazing, it is not inspiring, but it is 100000x better than what is there now. And yes, I do think the street interaction of a building is less important on a small parcel between a HWY & train tracks than a building directly on Whyte Ave. I...

    Edmonton | Iron Horse Line / Station Park | ?m | 6s | Beljan Development | Hodgson Schilf Evans

You guys going on a lot of long, beautiful walks along the east side of Gateway Blvd? Lol. Not all streets are created equally, and therefore not all street activations are equal either. This is a fantastic proposal replacing a giant eye-sore. I could care less if there was a screened...

    Edmonton | FARM | ?m | 2s

Disagree slightly. That intersection is becoming the destination. If you stay along 124th Street, the vibe drops significantly by the time you get down to 105th, and then doesn't pick back up again until around 103rd. It will eventually fill in, but 124th street as a whole has a lot of gaps...

    Edmonton | Glenora Park | 81.99m | 22s | ONE Properties | Wallman Architects

It was a few months back, but Edgar was saying in an interview that they are pushing for a rebranding of everything west of either 121st or 116th to become Edmonton's "West Village"

    Edmonton | The Shift | 113.08m | 38s | Edgar | MCM Partnership

Don't forget they also have the other lot on Clifton beside the Glenora Park project.

    Edmonton | Windsor Terrace | ?m | 12s | Pagaro Investments | Hodgson Schilf Evans

Do you think if there wasn't such opposition to the original design (with the cascading levels), this project would have caught the right side of the market wave and got built? It's a shame. I loved that original design, still can't understand why the adjacent residents were so passionately...
