The much larger pub/bar crowds lead me to disagree. There is a market-wide (and much publicized) move away from dining-in and would suggest that the market is simply rebalancing in response to changes in behaviors.

I can back this up that nightlife has been very busy downtown. My sense is that this market has too many kitchens and too few bars at the moment.

With the Quarters Station open on the Valley Line, I doubt that could be justified. But I get your thinking!

Yet, there's still no chatter about a Little Italy/Chinatown Station on the Capital Line at 95 Street. I'll never stop wanting and believing in that.

The situation on 124 Street is dire. I've never seen this level of vacancy - and the clear trigger was the pandemic given that virtually every space was leased leading up to it. I hope some kind of injection of support comes soon.

Honestly? We just need high frequency service (rail or dedicated bus lanes) between Bonnie Doon and University or Health Sciences stations. The realities of the necessary emergency corridor down Whyte Avenue probably means buses.

Remember that the announcement outlined that this is a collaboration with Boyle Street and the Youth Agencies Collaboration. I don't know the details, but it's 100% likely that these will be home to community members that utilize services for vulnerable youth. It could very well be that there...

Ideal location since this is a partnership with youth-serving agencies: walkable access to other supportive programs, transit, employment training programs, groceries etc.

I've seen you try to make this argument before - must we keep making comparisons that make no sense? For example: Bridgeland, Calgary # of Supermarkets: 0 # of Pubs/Bars: 0 West Oliver, Edmonton # of Supermarkets: 3 # of Pubs/Bars: Over a dozen and growing

Through a lens of decolonization/reconciliation, I would like to see the building disappeared from the neighbourhood.

Question - when are we due for updated population figures by neighborhood? The most recent municipal census figures I can find are from 2019 and can feel woefully out of date. Or is there another source I'm unaware of?
