    Toronto/Boston comparisons

Toronto has better architecture than people give it credit for. We have tons of side streets with beautiful old homes for example. When a friend from England was visiting here, he was blown away by the houses in the Annex.

    Toronto/Chicago comparisons

Yes, I lived in Brooklyn with my wife. Now that I think about it, we were the only white people there. I guess I just didn't notice it that much at the time.

    Toronto/Chicago comparisons

They found that NYC is more segregated than Chicago? Having been to both places and practically living in NYC for a while, I find that very hard to believe. Maybe in NYC, people live segregated but do things together? I don't know how else to explain that result since it contradicts what I saw.

    Toronto/Chicago comparisons

My wife and I visited Chicago last month. We had a wonderful time but I'm just glad I don't live there. It's definitely a nicer place for tourists than Toronto because of all the great old architecture but the city itself seems more depressing. My wife is from New York and now lives in Toronto...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I was thinking how if there was only one Liberal minded party instead of two, then the votes would have looked overwhelmingly Liberal versus Conservative.

I have to admit, this tower is going to look better than I expected when the spire is done. It's still not my favorite by any means but I think it will be a nice addition to the skyline.

haha is that the "Fox and the Fiddle" trying to fool people by altering the name a bit to seem more hip?

Downtown vs. Suburbs: Yes, It's An Ethnic Thing

haha that is amazing. Let me try one: "as downtown scenesters lay on top of a Ferrarri badmouthing the suburbs over a burrito stuffed with sushi"

I am having trouble even spotting the differences in the before and after pictures!

That is not an ignorant comment. There was a mass exodus of white people from Detroit in the 60s that was partially caused by intense race riots at that time. By no means am I saying racial tension is the only factor at play in Detroit but it was definitely one of the things that contributed to...

    Toronto in the World

This is a reminder that Canada has to partner more closely with Asia and less with the sinking ship to the south.

    Toronto Toronto | Bathurst College Centre | ?m | 4s | RioCan | Turner Fleischer

This sounds ominous to me. Even though that article describes a building that is better for RioCan, it still sounds far worse than what anyone else would build.

Looks so suburban... I hope the real building is better than the teaser

Oh, really? I guess I shouldn't have assumed but it just really looked like there isn't in that render.

I don't mind the Cityplace towers at all.. I just wish they were scattered around town instead of in one big cluster. Not to mention, it looks like the anti-retail dead zone won't be helped with this development.

Thank you. That is indeed the skinny one!

    Toronto Toronto | 122 Peter | 132.79m | 40s | Kingdom | BDP Quadrangle

This is definitely one of the most interesting proposals I've seen recently. I wonder if it will go through. It also reminds me of a really skinny tower that is in NYC but I can't remember what it's called.

    Toronto Toronto | Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto | 207.86m | 53s | Graywood | Kohn Pedersen Fox

So I just got home from a vacation in Chicago... and wow! We are very lucky with our Ritz Carlton building... the Ritz Carlton Residences in Chicago looks absolutely terrible. It looks like they were trying to emulate the old beautiful Chicago buildings but using terrible new precast materials...
