    Hamilton Toronto | 354 King Street West | 82.71m | 25s | Vrancor Development | srm Architects

This is reserved land for a future slip lane… into LRT tracks… Mandated by the City of Hamilton. Ward 1, where this development is located, already has fifteen slip lanes, btw.. Queen Street North is also on the Hamilton Trucking Route, this particular section allowing trucks with up to 4...

    Hamilton Toronto | Westgate on Main | ?m | 8s | Matrix Development Group | HB Design

Zero retail space is the real problem here. Especially since this lot used to be commercial (a Dairy Queen). The local City Councillor is to blame for that. City Hall still believes that people should live in one area, and shop in a different area so no one complains about smells and sounds...

    Hamilton Toronto | McMaster Graduate Student Residence | 97.9m | 30s | Knightstone | Diamond Schmitt

Curious, could those two open spaces in the first pic be openings for a future ‘skywalk’ bridge across the street to a future McMaster building?

LLMMFFAAOO!! You've got a lot of faith in developers if you think they're going to spend extra money to dissemble a whole structure carefully, store said materials during construction, then pay a restoration specialist to put it all back together. The Province won't be funding everyone's...

Toronto May have a bunch of these bldgs left, we in Hamilton do not. That's what makes them special. Again, Hamilton tore down a majority of historic or unique structures during urban renewal (not just downtown, but throughout the entire lower city). To lose even one more with unique...

A few buildings?! There are literally dozens planned for demolition!! This on top of the hundreds that have been demolished since the 'urban renewal' craze of the 60-70s (which didn't actually stop in Hamilton, see Gore Park buildings). For an outsider to say "It's just a few buildings!" is...

This shot of King & Main (the least logistical, most nonsense stop on the route) requires the demolition of the iconic Delta Block bldg which has housed Pizza Pizza and it's order processing centre for decades (along with several other storefronts with affordable apartments above them) This...

7 more buildings in this screenshot of King & Wentworth set for the wrecking ball (including a newly-discovered TD Bank, and dozens more affordable apartments) Just a couple of the buildings from that south-west corner

Huge reason why Metrolinx's B-Line LRT is losing my support is due to the massive swaths of demolition, mostly historic and/or unique sites (not to mention hundreds of units of affordable apartments). In this one screenshot below, there are 10 buildings set to be demolished including a...

I can back this up. I take the 27 Upper James, 35 College and 20 A-Line up to Rymal a few times a month and they're all pretty empty south of Mohawk Rd, with most passengers getting off at Mohawk College. The A-Line is the emptiest.

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

There's no density along Upper James south of the Linc to support Rapid Transit (just yet). In a few decades when those sprawling lots fronting the big boxes that dominate Upper James are converted to condos like you see in Toronto's inner-suburbs, there's just not enough density to support...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Hamilton's transit plans have become so political.. -shortened B-Line LRT to appease a certain east end City Councillor -LRT stops with no rapid connecting feeder buses like Scott Park & The Delta (because helicopter parents & students and old people & picnics) -Gondolas (lol) cuz they look...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'll be honest with you.. Hamilton International is a joke. There's almost no passenger traffic, and the parking lot is so big and empty that most travelers choose to drive rather than take transit. (Most Hamiltonians don't even know the A-Line exists, nevermind that it goes to the airport)...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

You don't see how ridiculous that jog around Cannon is? And the bus has to share a single lane of traffic with cars. AND it goes down a narrow residential street! Talk about slowing down what's supposed to be 'rapid' transit. Scrap Scott Park stop, scrap The Delta stop, replace both with a Gage...
  15. D

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

This is in fact a good news story. The A-Line spur would have been mix in with traffic, which does not fit in with the City's vision of rapid transit. The A-Line 'express' bus currently runs 7/8 empty outside of the McNab-Mohawk College stretch along the route. This frees up money for a...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

How does a stop at the Delta help someone who lives at Gage North and Beach Ave, who might not be able to afford a car, get to the LRT quickly and efficiently? How does and elderly person with mobility issues who lives at Gage & Cumberland get to the LRT stop at The Delta? This 'Gage Park' stop...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Now if only Core Urban (developers behind Templar Flats) would buy up every one-off empty lot along the B-Line corridor.. which won't happen. We're more likely to get a few decent-looking renos in addition to dozens of pre-fabbed junk, even a few speculator lots which will never develop. I...

^ All the "good" developments you show are historic retrofits. The exact thing that won't happen if we tear down those character buildings.

Hamilton's most recent new builds (thanks again to Google streetview): Is that the kind of crap (stucco, pre-fab adult lego, etc) we want lining King St and our Rapid Transit corridor?! Like honestly though.
