    Toronto Toronto | Residences at the RCMI Condos | 134.72m | 42s | Tribute | Zeidler

I'm surprised at how little attention (page 4 right now) this condo gets. Especially considering how quickly it's moving. You can really see the progress between the pics taken by drum118 on Nov 24th and the pic by Jasonzed on December 4th.

It's a strange juxtaposition of "stuff".

Five Condos (Graywood Developments, Mod Developments) - Real Estate -

I'd also go with Five. While I'm not personally a huge fan of either location myself, I do feel that Five is really doing something special. It's been one of my favourite new condo developments to watch. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

The renderings are nice, they look great. This coming from someone who has created renderings for a few developers. But they certainly don't show the randomly-sized glass panels we're seeing. But not that I would expect to necessarily see those in the renderings - I know it's impossible to...

    First Annual Year-end Readers' Poll

Some of my suggestions would be: - Best front-page article - Most urban development - Best architecture - Favourite low rise (up to 12s), mid rise(13-30s), high rise (31+) that were completed in 2011. - Best overall hotel, office, residential - Most bizarre post by a frequent UT visitor ;)

    First Annual Year-end Readers' Poll

Ed, will this be a single poll with say 5 options, or a series of polls?

Caltrane, that's a bit of a blanket assessment. I agree that this glass could be done better, but I certainly don't fit in with the "hate anything big" nor do I have a preference for any one particular design house. Actually, looking back at the past page there's a few of us that don't fit...

The awkward spacing on the south side bothers me too. Fortunately, it's unlikely that will be carried up the tower, but it is bothersome that it'll be quite noticeable to people at ground level. Seems sloppy/messy. The glass itself looks ok. Not top quality but certainly not the lowest...

She sure does look tall and slender from that angle. Thanks for the pics, Jasonzed.

This one sure is moving quickly. Thanks for the pic, dt. Glad to see it coming along as it's sure to impact the intersection well and provide good space for those in that line of work.

Does anyone happen to know if the Loblaws opened this week? I recall someone on here suggesting November 24th.

I like the density that the building brings, but the design seems pretty messy to me. Especially the tops of the building(s) section(s). And what is with the arches?

We need a lot more of this in Toronto! I'm joking of course. It's amazing how quickly one can forget what something looks like once it has been torn down.

Actually yeah! How can I not be when you ironically named Bellwoods visitors as "smug hipsters" in your overly smug way of saying it? LOL Way to not read what I said. Is it frequented by hipsters? Of course, everywhere in the downtown area is, including your beloved park. What I said was...

Thanks for clarifying AKS. And just to clarify my statement, I was being sarcastic saying there's no hipsters in Cityplace.

Agreed, it's a little bit difficult to tell exactly what's going on. There is some variation in the balconies and it feels a little top-heavy to me, but a day rendering might clear that up.

Oh please; there's certainly no hipsters in Cityplace, and Trinity is not frequented only by "smug hipsters". Who's the one being smug here? Or am I missing your sarcasm?

Woops, I've never been able to get the search on this site to give me anything. Mods, please feel free to delete this thread.

    How Toronto Lost Its Groove

Here's a 5-page article entitled "How Toronto Lost Its Groove: And why the rest of Canada should resist the temptation to cheer" from The Walrus. It's a pretty decent article covering land use, public transportation, immigration - throughout the GTA. Figured I'd post it here as I hadn't seen...
