Yeah, we need way better information displayed inside TTC vehicles. Hell, once you're on a streetcar, there's no on-board reminder of which streetcar it is/what the terminus is. On the 506, for example, its fine, but it is a problem on the 504, since it has the A & B routes. Just having a screen...

A screen with incoming train times at the entrance? The TTC could never.

Presumably because their execs want newer offices. I sadly doubt they think much about the outside aesthetic of the building.

We are at over a decade of starving the civil service of sufficient budget now, and people are like, "why can't they attract top tier talent?" Cause and Effect in action.

I think the issue many have with the staggered setback is more around that we are in a massive housing crisis, and the setbacks reduce the number of units available in the few places density has been allowed. Of course no one living there objects, they were able to buy a home, unlike many...

We're getting steadily closer to the ground floor being ready for the Fruit Market 👀

My ex used to live in the existing building. Wasn't great. His place was clearly a 1bd where they had split the living room in two and turned half of it into a second bedroom to get more rent. That said, while this generally looks nice, this area desperately needs more community amenities, and I...

I said Forest Hill because Davenport turns into Church at Yonge St. Obviously for anyone going to the west side of downtown, Spadina or Bathurst would be easier, but the Davenport-Church route is a pretty direct way into central/eastern downtown from Forest Hill. But yes, Jarvis is certainly...

The City could easily pedestrianize Church St between Alexander St and Wellesley St, with very few negative impacts other than rich people in Forest Hill losing their express route into downtown. The parking garage behind/below SteamWorks has an entrance off Maitland. The other parking lot on...

What a turd of a design. It looks like a mediocre condo podium. To add on to what others have said, in terms of limitations, from what I have been told by someone who worked on the W Hotel project, the structure of the building is much less robust than it looks from the outside. Short of...

We lost the only gay club in Toronto for this trash. World-Class City.

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

I honestly don't know what positive legacy he leaves aside from "Not being Rob Ford". No memorable accomplishments (SmartTrack was a joke, Rail Deck Park got destroyed by developers), basically ran our finances into the ground, and resigned in scandal.

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

This is a bad take in a rant about cancel culture because this is not an entirely uncommon view among queer people, but no one is cancelling him for it. I can say I personally think that is exactly what he did, and it worked, so fair enough. While I'm sure it is so much fun to use LGBTQ people...

Small correction: CityTV went to Rogers. The rest of Chum went to Bell, but not CityTV. But, regardless, you're totally correct about soulless telecoms ruining local news.

Simply, the rules that apply to those projects are not the same as the rules that apply here. Anything behind the courthouse is almost certianly outside the view corridor, it's too far West. Also those projects aren't approved yet. There could be view-related changes if needed. As for the...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line: Exhibition Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

I'd expect forgetting to tap off would default to the full LSW fare to Niagara, not the TTC fare. No way that the default is the cheapest option. Almost no one would ever willingly pay the correct fare in that case. The big implication here is likely that we're getting tap on/tap off on the TTC...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line: Corktown Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

I'm not actually sure it necessarily will, beyond there being a tower above it. Lyon Station in Ottawa was built as a pavilion entrance, and then the TOC was built around/above it after the Confederation Line opened. I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar situation here.

I'd say a 50%ish height increase isn't exactly "nothing major" lol This is going to have significant shadowing impacts on Moss Park now. How that plays out, we'll see. I'm all for more density at subway stations, but unlike some on this forum, I also don't think putting parks into perpetual...

While 8 Cumberland is boring, it shows how much better it is to try and downplay mullions and spandrel than to do whatever mess is happening here.
