    Toronto Toronto | Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

In addition to the promotions, I expect that when there's a nearby regular Starbucks, the fact that the grocery store locations aren't available for mobile orders starts to hurt them. I routinely go to the Maple Leaf Gardens Loblaws, buy some groceries, and then mobile order Starbucks from the...

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

Years ago, back when I lived out that way, they put in a roundabout on Hwy 2, near Kingston, I think specifically it's around Orillia. People are complete morons when it comes to driving through it. I've seen someone drive in the wrong direction, which is insane given how counter intuitive it...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I think they're referring to the RL North studies. Which did include both Don Mills and Vic Park alignments north of Science Centre station as options. I think the general conclusion from what little we know (since you know, it's MX and they hate making things public) was that a Don Mills...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

And given they also plan to extend the Sheppard Line, MX may find it works better to extend the OL to somewhere other than Don Mills to create a better transfer than they can with the existing station. I can see why the Don Mills alignment seems obvious to a lot of people, but who knows what MX...

    Toronto Toronto | TeaHouse 501 Yonge Condominiums | 170.98m | 52s | Lanterra | a—A

Yep! There's a Mediterranean restaurant going into the space on Alexander. Not sure about the Maitland side, but given they used different pavers to create the look of a patio (as they also did on Alexander), I'd expect something to be possible there as well.

    Montréal Transit Developments

We really need to stop using the same language for so many things. "Anti-elevated transit" should not share a common terminology with "believes gay people should exist". And let's be real, the main use of "woke" in current North American politics is not about urbanism, it's about racial and LGBT...

    Montréal Transit Developments

Given the one thing Plante and Rob Ford have/had in common is wanting transit to be built underground where it doesn't need to be, does this mean Rob Ford would have been "woke"? ;) But in all seriousness, what on earth does "wokeness" have to do with the REM changes beyond a need to insert the...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line: Queen Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

The reason the OL stations are so deep along Queen St is exactly because they are not using this method. Osgoode and Queen will instead be in the bedrock which removes the need for underpinning but makes the stations fairly deep. You can even see with the designs for both stations, they avoid...

    Toronto Toronto | 2 Queen West | 34.44m | 7s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Seems like the original idea was to reuse the bricks but in the end a lot of the building was too damaged to be salvaged, so it's mostly a very detailed recreation.

    Toronto Bike Share

The station at Yonge and Wellesley is back (they realigned it so you no longer have to walk around it to get to the pedestrian exit), and the station at Church and Alexander is now a stacked station. Both good improvements, the Church and Alexander station was routinely running out of bikes, so...

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

Some on the East side may be at least partially covered by the CIBC Square park, but I think so far there's been no other indication of canopies. My guess is MX is just hoping that eventually someone decks over the rail corridor and that solves the cover issue.

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

I saw in a video of the REM that they've numbered the entrances/exists on the stations there. Would be nice if the TTC adopted the practice, Sheppard-Yonge in particular could really use this, given it has 9 entrances.

    Montréal Transit Developments

SmartTrack was nothing more than a John Tory rebranding of the existing GO RER plans, with a few more downtown stations, that he cynically invented to win an election as people weren't paying attention to GO RER. Plus an airport branch that got cancelled immediately since it could never actually...

Maybe let's see what actually gets built for GO before we decide it's a failure 🤷‍♂️

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

The intent is to open at least the retail while the tower is still under construction. Not sure about anything else on the lower levels, but technically anything that's accessed by the secondary elevator core could be opened as it's not dependent on the tower above being completed. Aura also...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Not to mention the East phase isn't even on the provinces radar anymore, it's a City project again. And is now a total separate line because MX made a direct connection impossible because of how they designed the SSE.

    Toronto Toronto | Denarda Towers | 148.3m | 43s | KingSett Capital | Giannone Petricone

Love Mt Dennis becoming a dense building cluster. For once we're actually putting density close to transit.

All units will be redesigned to include a winding hallway that accounts for half the unit's square footage.

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I play sports every week at that field and that trail has been such a huge improvement in terms of the experience of getting to/from that field via the TTC (and presumably via bike share as well). A very underrated improvement.

George Hislop Park, Norman Jewison Park and Alexander Street Parkette

Alexander Street Parkette has been mostly dug up (although the benches at the entrance are still there), mostly it seems to expose the parking structure underneath. Not sure if they're doing repairs to that before the park gets rebuilt, but it would make sense.
