Article: A Look At Pure Plaza's (Formerly Plazacorp) West Harbour City Condos

Wouldn't the terraces work better if they were facing south into the sun and lake instead of the Gardiner?

Just came across these photos of subway stations in Stockholm- I doubt the TTC would ever spend the money on something like these: http://luketechtips.com/a-neat-blog-about-tech/unbelievably-cool-swedish-subway-system.html

Article: Two Coming Down, One Going Up, Up, Up

64 storeys on Charles seems a bit much- where will everyone work when most of the city is turned to condos? Drive out to Mississauga?

Does anyone know how many floors are left to be built? At the rate this thing is going up I'd guess they'd top out by April.

    Graffiti

This popped up just a few weeks ago on the Millwood bridge over the DVP- how on earth did this guy pull it off?

Hot off the presses- here's a pic of he scaffolding they put up last night. Does anyone know who pays for this?

Maybe Cresford should actually finish BSN before they attempt to build something else.

I'd have to agree with you- I still think it looks cool from a distance, but I wouldn't be climbing those stairs just to sit up there and feel small... I don't think I've ever seen anyone up there

Anyone know if they are making the building 52 floors for symbolic reasons- 4 seasons, 52 weeks in a year? Or am I reading too much into things...

great shots Redroom- makes it look like the city is floating in the sky

I totally agree- waiting at the corner of Yonge and Bloor at 5am with no pedestrians and all traffic stopped makes no sense. 7am-10pm would be more reasonable.

I thought this thread would be a good place for this article on interesting bridges http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/engineering/architecture/4335705?src=syn&dom=yah_buzz&mag=pop&ha=1&kw=ist

I'd have to agree- black granite sounds great, but once dirty it doesn't look too different from ashphalt.

Wouldn't it be nicer if the terraces faced south to the lake and sun? Or am I misreading the design?

Last week I walked the stretch of Bloor east of Yonge after nightfall and was surprised at how little pedestrian lighting there is- most alleys are better lit. I could see that they have some floor lighting next to the trees that they still haven't turned on, hopefully it'll make a difference...

Does anyone know if there will be a connection to the mini-path system? A Manulife type retail setup would be nice.

Along Queen west there is a condo that burried the hydro lines along it's frontage- I forgot which one, but it stands out in how much cleaner it looks compared to its neighbours. If they think it would bring up the value of the condo project more than it would cost to bury the lines- then why not?
