We need that hole filled too.

Cool design, but maybe it would've gotten old fast? Still have mixed feelings about this one. The "tribble" trees in the render have always made me chuckle.

We lost a major gap-filler there. That empty lot is the worst in Edmonton IMO ?

Indeed, I'm excited, and can't wait for renders. Your vertical split idea is sexy and interesting!

I have a strong feeling that the 21st century is Edmonton's turn, especially if we take the lead on economic diversification (as we should).

It's going to feel weird whenever I do eventually return. I've been working from home since March 19, and my greyhound has grown accustomed to having me here (and vice versa).

Wow, talk about a time capsule. Neat to think that I walk by this model every day at the office and yet it was unveiled in the Citadel Theatre some 35 years ago. Great find! As others have said, "now the secret is out" about this unfinished building.

Yeah, that earlier campus proposal looks too institutional for a downtown parcel. Meanwhile, Canada Place looks less institutional, although it technically is more of an institution, since it primarily houses public service workers and there is no office, hotel or retail component (unless you...

Can you imagine if the entire north elevation was a blank white stucco wall? ? ? ?:confused::confused: I shouldn't jinx it.

I drove past this site yesterday afternoon and noticed there's been excavation happening in the northwest corner of the park. Does that mean this tower is actually happening?? I'm so excited...

Went for a drive yesterday and Encore makes a prominent impact on the skyline from the James MacDonald bridge, and also from the other side while heading eastbound on 104 Avenue. Excited for it to be complete.

Heh, 3D modellers probably don't make near as much money from projects located in boom 'n' bust cities like ours then.

Ah! I've never really paid attention to bridge construction before, so I hadn't considered how it's done. Makes sense there'd be land surrounding the piers during construction so that the crews have something to stand on and a means to get equipment to/from the construction site.

They've narrowed the river considerably to make way for the bridge supports. Is excessive flooding or pooling of water in the areas under and around the bridge going to be an issue?

100%. And "Tawatinâ" just means "valley", doesn't it? Nondescript. Why not the Louise McKinney Bridge? The transit line is named Valley, the bridge doesn't have to be as well. Alas, I'm not in charge.
