    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Hopefully, that'll give the line 3,300 PPPHD capacity. I'm guessing they're keeping the 73 around to alleviate overcrowding but who wants to take the bus?

Skyrise Edmonton Valley Line Inauguration Meetup

I'm good with 102. It's Saturday and street parking will be free until 8am and abundant. EDIT: Clarification.

Skyrise Edmonton Valley Line Inauguration Meetup

Maybe two meets? First train and a later one?

If the trains are overcrowded, the 73 bus will still be running. 😜

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

This is exciting, I'll be there Saturday at some point. In odd news, route 73A/B will continue to run until February.

    Neighbourhood Renewal

The existing configuration is a two lane road. People treat it like a four lane road when it's not. The curb extensions are very much welcomed both from a pedestrian safety perspective and also to reinforce that it's a two lane road. No dashed white line = not a travel lane. Same with 139 Ave...

    Arc Smart Fare System

I meant when did Edmonton get their TVMs, not when did Edmonton get Translink's old TVMs.

I had a security guard tsk tsk me for daring to try to tap my Arc Card at 102 St stop. (It didn't work, FYI)

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

Parallel parking across bike lanes is nothing new, it's adding a curb to get to said parking spot that's the main issue here. Add in the fact the raised parking area is probably not going to get cleared of snow in the winter and this will be an ongoing issue at least a third of the year.

    Arc Smart Fare System

When did Edmonton get their old TVMs? I had to look up if Vancouver's pre-Compass TVMs were also the same, nope. But look, debit/credit payments since 2000 lol. I remember visiting Edmonton in 2018 prior to moving here expecting to be able to pay for my LRT with debit, and then having to find...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I had a walk through the new Churchill Connector heading into the office this morning and was truly impressed. Very airy and aesthetically pleasing like the Canada Line stops. It feels like a nice and safe way to quickly get up to street level. Would love it if they rebuilt the remaining primary...

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

Public bike share is another last km service we need.

    Edmonton | Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Ah I was under the impression there was a small transit centre at Blatchford Station but I see they only poured one pad.

Is it too much to hope that this opens CoE's eyes that elevated LRT can be built at record speed?

    Edmonton | Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Unless ETS can funnel all 110X-150X buses to Blatchford. Why are we duplicating service when LRT the city spent billions of dollars on exists? In the summer, they were running one-car trains on the Metro Line, what a waste. Bump up Metro Line frequencies to 5 minute peak hours 10 minutes midday...

    Edmonton | Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

I didn't realize that Falcon would overtake EPCOR Tower for third tallest. Being south of Jasper, it will stand out.

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I don't recall extended road closures when Skytrain construction crossed major roads in Vancouver. They probably had overnight closures for segment lifting and tensioning but allowed traffic to drive under static segments.

    Terwillegar Drive Expansion

Same issues with the split portions of Manning Drive. They should've just amalgamated the two sides like St Albert did with St Albert Trail. I doubt Manning Drive is ever going to be turned into the freeway, Terwillegar Freeway is likely not going to happen until 2055 minimum if ever. Too bad...

    Arc Smart Fare System

The pilot program for kids and seniors is ongoing until the end of the month and it should be ready to roll out to the general public by September but I'm not getting my hopes up. I currently have Arc cards for my kids. I have one issue with it though, it's the same $2.75 stored value fare as...
