^^ You aren't alone in that sentiment, though few with any power seem to believe the same.

I went to check out the show, it didn't start until after 7:30 though. RC8, your pictures turned out nicely, mine though, all turned out rather badly. Such as they are, here is the best of the lot:

Don't understand the choice of a fountain as the centrepiece of the entrance square, if the designer was worried about water getting on guests or their cars, could have chosen a sculpture instead (no water required). I can only hope it still gets used if only the upper portion ending with the...

Looks wonderful inside, classy but not cold. Very nice to see this finished and that ugly parking lot replaced with a very nice building.

The ground level looks really nice in that render, hope they actually use that dark stone on the sidewalk.

People shopping around for hotel rooms, will search out whichever hotel best suits their needs and will book with that hotel regardless of whether there is a newer (or older) option. There is no guarantee that more people will choose the Delta over the Intercontinental just because it is newer...

I doubt the Intercon will loose that many customers, the Delta Chelsea is the one that I can see hurting the most once the new Delta opens. The Chelsea could loose many corporate clients and will have to depend more on the families, groups and tours (which currently brings in a large portion of...

I totally agree. I was walking by this building yesterday and took note again of how nice the cladding design is. It would be nice if it was taller but not if that meant it's destruction. I would be ok with a renovation only if the existing design was just extended upwards or complimented in...

It is the north side, taken from near Chaplin Cres., I can't see the lower half due to trees.

Taken 22 Aug 12 Oddly, it looks like an abandoned factory, complete with missing window panes (like they've been broken).

A lot of cranes in that last picture, I count 11. It took a while to get going but now this area is changing fast.

I wish the podium cladding looked close to that render, a nice rich, golden terracotta, unfortunately that isn't what was used. The actual (coloured concrete?) cladding looks cheap and uninteresting and doesn't promise to age very well either.

Couldn't disagree more, considering the amount of pedestrian traffic on Yonge, south of Bloor, it is the sidewalks that need widening. Certainly keeping the current width is not working, considering that almost every time I am walking on Yonge, I am forced to walk on the road in areas, just to...

I got a couple of pictures of the sculpture, taken May 7th, couldn't get a decent unobstructed view with the blue fence in the way:
