    Toronto Toronto | Southcore Financial Centre & Delta Toronto | 159.71m | 45s | GWL | KPMB

I don't mind Southcore as a name for this area, it describes the location well and is easier to use as opposed to "the railways lands", Union station area, between the tracks and the lake, etc. 22 March

I like the proposal for the new building a lot, it would greatly improve the intersection. Don't like the integration (or lack) of the older building, it doesn't look like the old belongs at all, just kind of pasted onto the front. It would look much better with either portion remaining complete...

I went by today and also noticed that the entire facade was demolished except for the front doorway with some workers going at it specifically. Maybe only the door surround is being kept and the rest will be recreated. Though it wasn't my favourite club, seeing what was System (and Tonic)...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

^^I've always wondered the same after passing it many times. Also from a few pages back, thanks so much to both Anna and Goldie for the links to the flooded St. Lawrence towns, brought back memories from my childhood that I haven't thought about in a long time. Facinating to read through the...

    Toronto Toronto | Fly Condos | ?m | 24s | Empire | Graziani + Corazza

This building doesn't seem to be getting much interest. Anyone know of any proposals for the large parking lot here? Here's a view of the back, taken from Wellington St, working on the 2nd floor now. 01 March 12

    Toronto Toronto | Living Shangri-La Toronto | 214.57m | 66s | Westbank | James Cheng

Will be interesting to see what this art will actually look like. I just hope that it isn't like the image that I have in mind from that description above, it would not be good. Another look, the not so twinned towers: 07 Feb 12

I thought the whole point of the Design Review Panel was to help improve a design, not to make it worse.

Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

Wow, the patios look wonderful. I know where I'll be visiting some lunch hours in the summer and even next week!

Toronto Toronto | Kings Club at King High Line | 57.6m | 18s | First Capital | Kasian

Looks good (though I see the hospital resemblance), I like that it isn't all glass and the beige brick works with the neighbouring buildings. Don't think I would want to live in one facing Lamport stadium - those lights are very bright and the noise, at least it isn't used all that often.

    Toronto Toronto | First Canadian Place Rejuvenation | 298.08m | 72s | Brookfield | MdeAS Architects

^^ Totally agree, I think the tower looks far better than the podium, don't see how they could think that this is an improvement. I also don't understand the changes inside, the original 2 tone marble tiles on the flooring look so much better than the garish white terrazzo that is replacing...

    Where is "downtown Toronto"?

As far as I'm concerned, downtown refers to the area bounded by Bathurst, Parliament, the lake and Davenport/Bloor. Yorkville, Annex are part of downtown, Cabbagetown, Parkdale, Rosedale, etc. are central but not downtown. I don't consider it to be limited by simply being a commercial/retail...

    Toronto Toronto | Sixty Colborne Condos | 82.29m | 25s | Freed | a—A

Was walking by the site yesterday and the lot at the corner of King and Church St. was fenced off with stacks of boards. Nice to see something getting started at this location, have always disliked seeing that parking lot at such an important location. Looking forward to seeing the proposal.

    Scarborough Photographs: Then and Now

Wonderful thread, great to see pictures from "Scarberia's" past and present, it brings back good memories of growing up there. Pharmacy and Ellesmere was my neighbourhood, nice to see Parkway Mall (previously Parkway Plaza) is still going and the old Miracle Mart hasn't changed much. I...

Tonic and System were fun, had lots of great nights in that building. Only ever went to Tonic when they had techo on "For those who know" Wednesdays, Richie Hawtin, Marco Corola, Kenny Glasgow and many others. Couldn't possibly do a mid-week night and still go to work on the next day on 2 hrs...

    Toronto Toronto | Curio by Hilton Distillery District | 115.1m | 31s | Gupta | Arcadis

This particular area sat vacant because no one had any vision for it, that has changed over time with being a movie set and lately a mixed use neighbourhood. Unfortunately most of us have few opportunities to express an opinion and certainly no control over what happens to various sites in the...

Possibly, I would need to see a clearer, more complete picture before deciding if that is the case here. As you can tell, I would just rather something different happened with this building.
