    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

Toronto Eaton Centre to get a new retail anchor Who will move into the huge Eaton Centre space that will be vacated by Sears Canada in February? Sears Canada says it is selling the leases on five more of its department stores, including its flagship location in Toronto's Eaton Centre, above...

    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

Yeah. I'm thinking its between Nordstrom or Saks

    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

Yeah I know. I hate those commercials. Especially the Winter Parka commercial. Cringe worthy.

    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

I checked out the Yorkdale location a couple weeks ago. They're already in liquidation. Lots of empty shelves and big messes. Their selection of clothes is garbage. No wonder they can't compete. Outdated looking stores and ugly clothes. Do we know yet who will move into this space? Is it still...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

The deadline for National Olympic Committee's (NOC's) to submit applicant cities will be in the Summer of 2015. The deadline to confirm submitted cities is in the fall of 2015. Public support should be stirred up after Toronto hosts the 2015 Pan Am Games. I wouldn't worry about that...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

Even with Tokyo's win, I can still see North America winning the next Olympics games. Toronto's bid would trump most of the candidates. The only thing the Toronto bid team needs to work on is coming up with a compelling reason why Toronto should host the games. Not just a simple, this is what...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

About the stadium, it makes the most sense for the Olympic stadium be made to easily be downgraded in size for the Toronto Argonauts. We can't depend on the NFL coming here even though a Toronto NFL team would be the perfect tenants for this stadium.

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

I wonder when this report will be released to city council. I hope sometime next month.

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

Toronto's 2024 Olympic bid is such a hot topic over at the Gamesbids.com forums. I can't wait until more news to come out including the city report. Heard via that website that preliminary talks for the stadium are to be huge and a grand scale.

    Toronto Toronto | 50 Bloor Street West | 230.11m | 70s | Morguard Corporation | Pellow + Associates

This is one of my favourite developments in Toronto. Definitely looking forward to this one going up. Could this possibly get a height increase later on? The current size was deemed acceptable for this area by the DRP.

    Hudson's Bay Company

Interesting. It makes sense Hudson's Bay would want out of certain leaseholds. For example, Woodbine Mall. That place is such a waste. And I wonder who they would sell Home Outfitters to? BedBath&Beyond? It's too bad because I like HO...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

It was postponed and I thought the 2024 Olympics staff report would be coming out around the same time as the Casino report and that report is due any day now.

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

Just wanted to update everyone on what the USA are up to in regards to 2024. Their Olympic committee has sent out a letter to a bunch of cities gauging interest in a 2024 bid. So far Chicago has flat out said they're not bidding no more. New York isn't interested as well. Only Dallas seems to...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

You do realize that they had to build everything from scratch in Sochi. They had nothing in place when they bid for the Olympics. If you take a look at the pictures of Sochi's venues, they're so beautiful and you can tell the Russian government dropped a crapload of money on constructing them...

    Toronto Toronto | Union Park | 303.26m | 58s | Oxford Properties | Pelli Clarke Pelli

Can somebody give me an estimated timeline for this project? When should it get approved by City Council?

    Sears Canada (1952-2017)

Sears just laid off 700 employees. It looks inevitable that Sears will evenutally go out of business in Canada.

The Globe & Mail article mentions that there could be the possibility of two casino complexes in Toronto. This is new news to me! I'm already favouring The Sands as the winning casino bid even though they haven't released any official plans and renders. It just makes more sense to include a...
