Actually it's very difficult to take a 'flattering' shot of these buildings. They almost always look better in person - pictures tend to be very unflattering compared to how they look in real life.

Catering a condo party - suggestions?

Any suggestions for catering a condo party? It's not a formal dinner or anything like that... if anything it will be closer to a drunken mess. Somewhere between 20-30 people - looking for finger foods and that sort of thing.

Umm... what? I live on Spadina and I think it's great. I can get anywhere on the Spadina streetcar when necessary quite quickly and never have to worry about traffic.

I live and work downtown and don't NEED a car by any means. But I have one anyway. Comes in handy for when I visit the 'burbs.

Hmmmmmm. As someone who lives kitty-corner to this development it is of great interest to me.... It looks like (as planned) they are building this on top of the Toyota dealership - however immediately to the west of it (where the current G&M building is) there are just trees. Are they...

Ethics and Legality of Publishing Rooftopping Pics

Why - is he damaging or stealing from the construction sites? I think not. If he can indeed (illegally) break in, climb to the top, and then fall and sue the contractor/developer, that's a fundamental problem with our legal system IMO - not what he is doing.

There were proposals years ago.. the signs have since been taken down. It really is an enourmous plot of land though...

There's also people who just want tap water but end up ordering fiji water instead because other people have brainwashed them into believing it's trendier. There's no accounting for pretentiousness. If anyone offered to scrape the paint off my walls, ceilings, pillars, etc and expose the...

haven't you guys heard - exposed concrete is cool and trendy

it looks horrendous... how can they possibly just leave that there...

Completely disagree. I think the contrast really highlights both buildings in a very complimentary way.

The cladding looks great on the tower, but up close on the podium it really looks quite terrible. Cheap and tacky - especially when compared to the old marble.

I've spent a few nights over at the Hudson at King/Spadina and it definitely is quite loud - to the point of being annoying. I suppose in the long term you'd get accustomed to it but I certainly didn't like it.

Toronto Toronto | CityPlace Puente de Luz Bridge | ?m | ?s | Concord Adex | Francisco Gazitua

As someone who lives at Front/Spadina, I can confidently say it is less than a 15 minute walk to Union. I've done it many times in 10 minutes, albeit at a relatively rapid pace. And yes there is always the option of simply walking to St. Andrew, which I would say is almost the exact same...

Seriously? It's a 10 minute walk from Union Station. Or if you're lazy, the Spadina streetcar drops you off RIGHT there. Not to mention being about a 5 minute walk from the King, Queen, Queens Quay AND Bathurst streetcar lines. Then there's the proposed Fort York/Bremner streetcar line on top of...

i am? while i don't doubt doubt there are people out there that like "exposed concrete" for their own valid reasons, I also don't doubt for a second that the vast majority of people who see it on sales brochures and hear it from their agent assume it's a good thing simply because it was marketed...

+1 I HATE unfinished concrete ceilings/pillars inside units. It just makes it feel cold and unfinished. Somehow developers have managed to pass off this phenomenon to all the sheep out there trying to be trendy.

It's been quite a few years since the "this thing will never get built" jokes And even longer since the "this thing will never get built" serious comments. Anyone else remember those days?
