New Urban Toronto - Post Your Comments Here

New forum - bad I don't really see any 'improvements' in the new forum. However there are some glaring negative issues: - The font colours are horrendous and very hard to read - Horizontal scroll bar is present on every page and thread unless i maximize my browser

The closer this gets to completion the more dissatisfied I find myself. At first I was quite enthusiastic about this makeover... thinking the building would look sleek and refreshed once it was complete. But after staring at it for a while yesterday I realized the horrendous mess of antennae at...

There's way too much whining going on about this. I'm sure they realize there are tons of wusses out there who think they are gonna die on it... but there are plenty of people with guts who would be happy to give this a shot. I'm sure there will be lineups for this all summer. And there...

obviously canadian advertisers would pay less for advertising during the superbowl because there would be fewer people watching. Whereas there would be MORE people watching a Toronto Bills game than there would be watching a Buffalo Bills game. Sure 50% of the revenue would come from Canadian...

The whole broadcast revenue 'issue' is just one of the straws that the desperate anti-NFL people keep grasping for. In reality Toronto would probably have higher viewership than many/most teams (particularly the small market ones), as evidenced by the Jays viewership, and the only 'problem'...

actually it looks rather terrible from university/adelaide IMO as a bunch of us were discussing earlier. all the random floor heights and mismatched glass panels really make it look like a mess.

Ultimately, more people watch the Blue Jays than almost every other team in baseball. And yet somehow you still insist they are NOT a good baseball market? You just can't win with some people... Uh.. seriously? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? High viewership = profit. Every...

Just to disprove this statement some more: And this is after ONE off-season that just provided a little bit of hope. We're still predicted to finish last in the division. Do you realize how insanely high those TV ratings are? They AVERAGE over half a million viewers per game! The Jays are...

It's MUCH more complicated than that. The problem with debating attendance numbers on forums like these is that people here simply don't understand sports. Take myself for example... I'm a huge Jays fan, and I don't attend many games when a) the team has no hope of making the playoffs and b)...

Not great? The ONE time they were just a 2nd round playoff team, they were 4th in the entire league! Clearly the fan support is there if and when they choose to be a winning team. I would say the Raptors fan support IS great.

um... what? The Jays were the first team in baseball HISTORY to draw over 4,000,000 fans in a single season (and did it twice). Only a handful of teams have ever done it since (giants like the Yankees). The Jays get tremendous TV ratings and are a HUGE money maker for Rogers. Attendance is not...

Seriously? Cowboys stadium is the largest domed stadium on the planet, and is one of the most grandiose stadiums built in the history of the world. Do we really need a state-of-the-art retractable roof with 4 of the largest screens ever made? And even with all that it 'only' cost $1.3 billion...

Where is this one BILLION dollar price tag coming from that people are throwing around? I'm sure a cheap 70,000 seat stadium could be built for a fraction of that

As you can see a few posts up in the picture i posted, they had installed the entire crane. And as I also mentioned a few posts after that, they came along a day or two later and removed the crane arm for some reason...

That picture doesn't really make any sense... because in order for that "landscaped promenade" to continue all the way to clarence square park, it would have to cut through the adjacent property. I'm sure eventually once that adjacent property gets developed the city will make sure they allow a...

I'm pretty sure that's what's happening right now if you look at the renders. There will be a tree-lined path that will connect Front street to Clarence square park.

You're all asking the same question... the "lot to the north" of Element and the lot to the west of Fly are all connected... it's one enormous lot. There was (is?) a sign on Front street about a proposal for a 4-story development for the site, but the sign is several years old...
