    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Paired with “I was also in charge of the Capital State of Good Repair program to address the replacement and upgrades of track, power, facilities and vehicles.” I can’t help but laugh.

Post your pictures of Toronto here!

The mist fountain at the former Natrel Rink is pretty cool. They have one in Flushing Meadows and it makes for some pretty neat photos.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

But it’s not because people aren’t getting the value for what they paid. Actually maybe they are getting exactly what they paid for because over a decade ago the promise was made to find “efficiencies” to cut taxes. Turns out there wasn’t much to be found and they cut into services like the TTC...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

People have always been pigs. 30 years of taking GO, I’m never surprised seeing beer cans and bottles, spilled beer, other trash and messed up washrooms on late night trains. I don’t know if there’s a reasonable way for GO to do a quick clean of their trains every now and then. It would be nice...

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Not sure when this was last updated, but VIA has which trains get the new trainsets here: https://www.viarail.ca/en/plan/new-fleet

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Preventing other agencies from serving Toronto is still dumb considering municipal boarders are crossed all the time. The status quo no longer makes sense. Especially with the one fare transfer, municipalities and the province need to work together to coordinate cross border services.

What everyone’s been waiting for: Taco Bell is now open!

    Brampton Transit/Zum

A neat little oddity. I was never able to catch it in service. Did get to ride it in its second career, though.

    Brampton Transit/Zum

The only one in the fleet! With how some routes are, I would have thought they’d get more.

That part past the tiles used to be the tunnel.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The Crosstown cars were designed and built by Bombardier. Exact same cars are running in Waterloo and Edmonton right now.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

This is off topic, but I am curious. How are their BYD buses? I know they bought a lot of them. And I’m curious because of all the issues we’ve had with ours.

    Hamilton: General Service Discussion

This is a great exercise in branding and is a sign of a city that knows and is happy to celebrate its history. The HSR has wrapped two buses in retro liveries and from last Saturday to yesterday offered free rides on them. They also had giveaways at different locations and a historical...

    Intercity Bus Services

Which is a bit funny since Flixbus now owns Greyhound.

The buildings looked pretty cool reflected in Royal Bank Plaza.

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

US EV demand is not so much an issue for Nova Bus anymore as they will be leaving the US market in 2025. But ending diesel production at the same was a bit of a shock move. Some in the industry share your same concerns. Cummins has had a monopoly on transit bus engines since 2009/2010. Detroit...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

All the buses in Montreal were purchased before 2023. For a brief period in 2024, New Flyer indicated that engines for hybrid articulated buses were not available. That’s why Brampton’s newest articulated buses are conventional diesel. Presumably this was the case with Nova Bus, but they never...
