Really hopeful for the corner retail. The more interesting things along my bike route, the better! The cafe seating should also hopefully mesh well with the Oliver Exchange space - love to see this kind of space utilization.

How do you give a comment multiple likes? 🤔

Maybe it's because of the colours, but it already looks pretty dated. Will take this over an empty lot or car dealership, but I'm not feeling it just yet. I still very much appreciate the street front interaction though.

I pass by here in the evenings after sunset sometimes, I always see lots of groups of people hanging around and taking pictures. I have seen some people set up a speaker and dance (is it still called breakdancing?), others just chilling out with their friends. I think the most interesting group...

The inside looks really nice! I'm glad it turned out well. That last picture of the old library...really just salt in the wound. 😢

My wife and I were here last night - it doesn't look too bad...in the dark. Jokes aside, I think it looks a decent bit better in person. The colours and materials are pretty vibrant. Still not the biggest fan, but they've clearly put effort into it (despite slapping the parking lot in front).

I live in one of the nearby neighbourhoods - at the end of the day, I'm grateful for more local business areas and activity in what was a previously dead spot. Transit is pretty weak in my area and while I used it for getting to and from work pre-pandemic, it's still a far cry from being usable...

Honestly, it's not the tacky and misguided design that gets to me with this development, it's the fact it's made so much worse by lazily slapping a parking lot in the front and ruining what is already a less than stellar design. If you were going to design this, then go all in and at least show...

Not bad at all! Looking forward to more density to support businesses on 124 St. :)

It's been a few years since I've been there, but Washoku was really good. Have been meaning to go back.

This is a really good development concept. Having walkable areas away from the main roads area, plaza style, is sorely missing in the city. Not sure how to describe, but it adds a sense of "depth" to the urban area. Really hoping the final product follows through!

My wife and I took a different bus to work today and it drove past this development. I asked my wife what she thought and she said "Wow cool, looks like Europe." I just looked at her like

While I think the design is a bit tacky, I do like the overall variety that this provides. Just really wish there wasn't a big parking lot in front. This area could have really used a boost to walkability, but perhaps it's not feasible with the level of density? I don't know, I'm just tired of...

Good point, I hope the new ownership of the mall takes note. :)

Wow, looks excellent! The open glass feel will really complement the LRT and really make this space feel very vibrant. Very exciting! Although I never frequented the store, I was lamenting the loss of Holt Renfrew and wondering what would happen with that corner. Glad the investment is being...

    Introduce Yourself

Hey thought I'd introduce myself as well. I've lurked this forum for a while, but mostly lurked on C2E for a long time. Seems like it's not as active there anymore so I decided to make an account here since I love discussing all things Edmonton related! I recently moved back to Edmonton, though...
