I like it (at least at street level). A nice change from all the boring glass we see around the city. Looks very New York-ish which is what I think they were going for anyways.
What a beauty. This thing will really transform the area IMO. I do like the use of brick in many of Streetcar's developments as opposed to all glass like so many other projects.
Broken glass happens a lot more frequently than you think and it happens to a lot of buildings. Lanterra's was highly publicized because the glass hit someone.
I have a few friends who live in Cityplace. I've seen bentleys, Range Rovers, Lambo, etc... People are not poor there. Poor people can't afford $1400 rent.
They're flat doors, what's wrong? What I do like are the 3 hinges on the doors rather than the standard 2. Also, the baseboards are nice and simple....it goes with the look of the building.
You have to compare apples to apples here. You can't compare a 700 sqft condo to a 2000 sqft house. The mainentance fees on a 1300 sqft condo are much higher than $500.
If you move into a house that has all of this done, you're fine. At $750K you should be able to find a house with new windows, doors, furnace, roof, etc.
