The dust has settled and this government remains as petty and vindictive as ever. The thought of another surface line through downtown is just absurd. We are nearing 60,000 people living downtown and another 100,000+ working. We don't need another surface line and 7th Ave is already maxed out...

As someone who has fished the Bow for decades, that red roofed home is a bit of landmark when floating and always felt way outside the city. Even five years ago the Deerfoot extension was the end of city. Kind of sad so much of the Bow Valley is being developed.

This is the only modern arena design for a 18k+ seat arena that doesn't come across as imposing and monolithic from ground level. The design is a little busy but it manages to have nice scale at street level while still being a functional NHL arena.

So is the inverted bowl design back in play?

It looks like a demolition permit was issued in January, so maybe there is some traction on this site. Though, I don't know if the multi tower BP permit from years back is still valid to allow for construction to start right away. Maybe @MichaelS could weigh in.

Crawfish are definitely not native to the Bow River watershed and should be reported to the provincial government alongside where you found them. They are very invasive and it's concerning you found as many as you did in the Elbow. On the other hand, gumbo anyone?

As I recall, the city holds title to all of the Stampede land and leases the portion of land, from roughly south of 14th ave to the Elbow, to the Stampede. The lands north of 14th, including Olympic Way, are also owned by the city.
