I like the zigzag balconies but I’m a little scared this will go the way of a particular pemberton building. (Idk why pemberton autocorrected to pervert on or how I missed that but I digress)

While I don’t love the window wall, good design and solid balcony cladding should save this. Curtain wall would’ve been better but these will still look decent.

Doing some thread catchup and you are of course entitled to your own opinion, but you like this more than the well!? Part of me genuinely thinks this is some elaborate ruse where you just keep doubling down and waiting for someone to call your bluff and then at the very end you’ll reveal you’ve...

Losing this design over this particular heritage building would be a damn shame. What’s being proposed will be genuine heritage in 30 years. What’s there right now is not.

Exactly. Having the signage isn’t the problem. I get why they want it up there. It’s only the one screen on the front that acc is really problematic. No reason why 3/4 sides isn’t good enough coverage, especially when this is not going to be the most prominent viewing angle of the building anyway.

This is going to look pretty sharp I think.

People may not like the colour of cladding, but it is undeniably of high quality still. Like much else HP does. This just not just some cheap coloured panels slapped on the side of this building and I for one, really like it.

Please give us LED lights with colour! If any building can pull it off it’s this one. Green running along the edges would look great!

This is what angles do for the urban fabric. It creates a visually interesting and inviting space. Makes pedestrian friendly spaces by necessity. Creates a distinctive and attractive location. And increases the sense of urban-ness and density by breaking up the streetwall and endless street...

This really is a fantastic project. In fact, Toronto has a lot of fantastic projects, built, under construction and proposed. Im the first to crap on this city for having terrible architecture, dirt cheap buildings and more. The reality is every city must have more inexpensive infill. I’d go...

Haha, that just might be the plan! Not only does she take pictures for me. I wanted to go into architecture but couldn't do the math, now she's an engineer and travels all over Toronto to look at buildings for her JOB! So I just get to live my nerdy love of buildings vicariously through her...
