They are still a few weeks ago. The millwork is just getting done. It is a Rexall and not a PharmaPlus. The clear windows are a problem for me as the Church street side should also change in my opinion. Looks weird when you walk around the corner.

Dead a long time ago Ed. The interesting thing on this one is how State will try (or maybe not) to compliment the $1B Well project directly across the street. I hope a cheap office tower is not their plan.

Global Village Backpackers Redevelopment (460 King W, Allied REIT, 3s, Gensler)

Allied is renovating the building for a restaurant/retail/coffee shop on ground floor and offices in the rest. It is a permanent long term solution. New construction will wrap around it in maybe 7-8 years.

    Toronto Toronto | Minto Westside | 68.88m | 20s | Minto Group | Wallman Architects

It is absolutely pure speculation by Minto that they will incorporate a boutique hotel or a major grocery store to this site. They may want to, but that does not mean they will. The current plans submitted to the City for the entire complex show no hotel, have never shown a hotel and there...

I believe the sales rep told me that the first two phases have 660 units. I really don't see a boutique hotel here at all. I would be talking to the Well development for that kind of action (future DRL stop and all that luxury retail, movie theatre etc) if I was a hotel chain.

    Toronto Toronto | Minto Westside | 68.88m | 20s | Minto Group | Wallman Architects

So far, only two of the contemplated four buildings/parts (4 condo corps) are up for sale at the moment. The south Bathurst (fronting on the street) part is only selling up to the 9th floor while the south interior part (adjacent to Tridel's Reve) is totally up for grabs (the less desirable...

    Toronto Toronto | DNA3 | ?m | 15s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

Opened on Friday. Went to the store yesterday and was impressed. Sorta like a Sobey's express, but higher end with all the PC products and better executed. It is being marketed to the customer as an independent store and the word Loblaw is not in the store name. Not a bad first attempt. I...

    Toronto Toronto | Minto Westside | 68.88m | 20s | Minto Group | Wallman Architects

No Whole Foods or major grocery store here as Minto downsized the retail after Whole Foods walked away. No hotel either as current plans do not allow for such a use. Bottom line - all sales people BS. Don't get suckered in to rumours people.

Not much change really other than floor heights reduced to squeeze in 50 more units for a grand total of 1250. It should be called Minto Westside Dormatory. Ryerson U might be interested ;-)

Still the same and only left tower.

I think so, unless there is no material change and Gupta's numbered company is still part of the deal. I think they can add partners. Others will probably chime in here.

This looks great and the metal siding on the west elevation does not look that bad. Great work by Teeple.

Deerhurst Resort - Lakeside Lodge Condos (5s, Skyline, Hunstville, Ontario)

My wife and I are contemplating purchasing a resort condo at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville as part of their latest development entitled Lakeside Lodge. The development has been written up here by UT. http://skylinecommunities.com/Deerhurst-Resort/Deerhurst-Lakeside-Lodge Does anyone have...

Ummm, these trees are going to be just fine. They are fed with underground water lines. Better than your picture.

You're right, it's all about finding the long-term economic model to pay for the operating costs of the museum. Mr. Mirvish has stated in the past that he doesn't want government intervention or money to help pay for it, as that gets political and can be taken away at any time.

    Toronto Toronto | Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

The way Mirvish was intending to fund his gallery was by getting each condo corp hooked into a Section 37 type of arrangement, similar to the way some daycares are done in condos. He has stated this publicly in the past. The developer pays for the construction of the space then provides a 99...
