I would argue that the mistake the developer made here might be not building something that fits with the location. If you’re a buyer with two cars and ‘gear’ why would you pay extra to be central? No wonder no one is buying units here. They should have built something that reflects the fact...

My favourite is 'redefining luxury'. Boy that word sure has been redefined many times....almost every development in fact.

I also feel that they should have offered at least a unit or two that had more livable space instead of a garage. This location is literally 50m from the new 124st LRT stop and has everything on the doorstep.

Not sure where to put this question, but it looks like the old 7/11 space on Jasper and 104 street has been leased. Does anyone know what's going in there? It's a prime spot, obviously

slightly off topic and I'm sure there's another thread somewhere, but what is happening with the reno of that historic hangar near NAIT? wasn't there supposed to be student housing as part of that? Haven't heard anything about that in a while and it looked like an amazing project.

I think what archited is trying to say is that BCM is still alive and may still have plans to build something on this lot someday. It's amazing how rarely the ROI on building active transportation infrastructure (and even just pedestrian spaces) is considered, even by those who profess to be be urbanites. We have such a long way to go to become anything but a car-first city. Hopefully amazing examples like the Oliverbahn...

Yeah no kidding. It amazes me that people move out the far suburbs and then immediately expect all the same services as the established neighbourhoods near the centre of the city. If you want those services, don't move to the fringes or at least be ready to wait until public transit is built out...

Oktoberfest is awesome, can attest. Do yourself a favour and buy a Stein for $15. My buddies were one of the first 100 in line and got theirs free. Not sure if they do that every day though. Edit: I guess it's over already. Go next year ;-)
