I suspect that's what the Green Line team likely wanted but when you have 3 levels of partners funding a project and only one partner is willing to absorb any sort of cost increase you get what you get.

That's fair, I can only speak to the fact that I live near one of the stations that was cut... I was contemplating taking the train downtown once built, but if I'm driving up Ogden Road (literally my commute today) I'm just going to keep going driving downtown. Everyone's different though. 🤷‍♂️

It will, but I'm also assuming the city will try and re-jig current bus routes and force them to get on the train at Lynnwood. So in essence we may actually be making some of those express bus routes worse and multi-mode compared to today.

I think there's also the piece of making transit SAVE people time to encourage use. There are countless vehicle/train accidents a year on 7th ave and delays due to vehicle interactions/blocked intersections/etc.

I would argue that the SE is one of the most underserved areas of the city for transit so I'm not sure how that's not the most immediate need.
