Like I said that is not a regular platform The train is still being tweaked and all the issues will be resolved once it is ready for service

That step or trip is real great and will have a photo on line Monday shot from the platform and it shows that 2.5" or more different. Not sure if it is the platform or not. I stumpble off car 5411. Thats only because of the buildup track at Davisville yard, this is to prevent the tail end swing...

I think he is pulling your leg. About 15 years ago when I was doing a change off at Warden on my way back to Greenwood on a Sunday morning around 6am and all the lights were green with trip arms down all I managed with an empty load was 85 km/h on a H6. If it was in high rate may be more but...

I read somewhere that the top speed of our current trains is about 90km/h, and that the new ones were slightly slower (approx. 85km/h). Does anyone know what their top speed is? IMO with interstations up to 2km long, our subways should max out at least at 100km/h. I have driven many trains...

There i an emergency evac planed on the TR at Davisville around noon time. Staff personnel will be used from head office It looks like the floor is just covered up with plywood, to protect it from damage. Testing is done by Bombardier Engineers to TTC specs, once all the specs pass then we...

The 4th train is not operational yet, it is still being put together. You will see more of the TR on the mainline as it is being used by OTC (training department) to train yard personnel, it is a 5 day course which is being done on day and afternoon shifts.

The TR trains can not be touched my us period. The only time we have access to the trains is when they are driven on the main line and the driver is a TTC employee. Next month there is a plan in place to start training maintenance employees how to drive these new Rockets......uuuuuuu exciting

The mechanics have to take the trains apart and put them back together. Each mechanic has to do that again and again until they it becomes normal for them We usually don't take perfectly good trains apart. :D This is not the way it is done, as for drivers well they go through a course...

The trains still belong to Bombardier and there i still a lot of testing, no mechanics have been trained yet so I cant see them going into service yet. What would happen if it broke down on the main line....who would get it going since Line Mechanics haven't been trained. I'm saying late June...

David Gunn to consult on TTC budget cuts

Last time Gunn was here he trimmed the Staff down by 1500 employees, after he was forced out by City Hall those 1500 were re-hired and 1500 more on top of them were hired also. We are too top heavy on the Staff side, Harvey Shop And Duncan Shop have for every 4 workers on the floor a Forperson...

Siemens an advantage when negotiating contracts in the future (probably outside of Canada, unfortunately). I don't think we have to worry about Siemens as they would not meet the Canadian/Ontario content requirements. Besides both Siemens and Bombardier get their parts from the same suppliers...

And as for a lack of links, that's more a testament to the ability of Bombardier to keep bad news under wraps more than anything else. I think we all want the TR to work but it will take some time. I hear old stories from older workers that when the H6 cars were being offloaded parts were...

Aren't these trains based on an existing train anyway? How many problems could there possibly be? Just in height and length, the rest is a completely new design. Electrify what link are you asking for?

Really? I guess I shouldn't be surprised though. It is the TTC The trains are not in TTC possession to begin with, there are still major issues with them. Bombardier own engineers are at a loss as what is going on. The train still has not gone over 15 Km/h, there are propulsion issues and...

Apparently it's waiting to be sent back to Bombardier for work There are some major issues with this train and TTC does not want to take a risk in winter by putting it into service yet. Its going to be a while before it goes into service.
