To prevent damage when the trains are parked tightly in the yard the aero noses above would not work for us. Couplers are needed in case we have disabled trains on the main line and need to couple up to a good train. It is called an anti climber not a bumper and can not be lovered as it is at...

We still are not ready to accept the new trains so no harm done, by the look of those pictures I see Bombardier still hasnt fixed the exit ladder from the cab. As you can see when you walk out of the cab you can not see the ladder at all which is an accident waiting to happen. We are also having...

I'm assuming when you mean that the Carhouse is not done, that you mean they haven't finish tearing down the old Wilson Carhouse. Where did you get the idea that the old Carhouse is going to be torn down? An addition was built do accommodate the new trains.

The new trains are only going to be on the YUS line and the existing T1's will eventually go on the BD line. As we start getting the new trains, the old H4 cars will be retired and in return the T1 trains will move down to Greenwood Carhouse. I just hope they wait a few months before this is all...

Union: Six-figure workers a 'benefit to TTC'

So how many of you here are going to the meeting this Sunday? Its your chance to talk 1 on 1 with Mr Kinnear and front line workers http://wemovetoronto.ca/

Union: Six-figure workers a 'benefit to TTC'

What a jerk! It is none other than the unionized employees themselves that dispatch, drive, and maintain the vehicles. So what are you saying that a dispatcher located in some corner of a carhouse is creating overtime for drivers out of his goodwill toward his fellow union brothers and...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Does anyone have any info on when the first ones are meant to be in service? and on what routes? TTC staff seem to be tight lipped about this. It might be a while as presently none of our streetcar carhouses can handle any maintenance on these cars. Just like in subways we have people...

    Subway Construction Costs

No all construction done on subways is contracted out, we just do not have the expertise nor the machinery for such a job. The construction of extending one of our Carhouses for the new TR was handed out to a private company.

With so much going on there! You make me laugh......just what do you think is going on in there:D I guess with all the methane gases escaping in that yard its better then the other yards

You must be getting Wilson mixed up with Wilson garage where buses are or Greenwood Shops. Even delivery guys such as UPS have to get rule book training before they can cross the tracks in Wilson and Greenwood Yards.

Well its a little different in the carhouses where you have 600 volt bugs hanging down at eye level, trains are going in and out regularly. What do you think would happen if a person got hit by one of the subway units as it was coming in. When a maintenance worker moves say from shops or...

    Toronto | 1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

As you are driving by its the first wall you see from main line, which by the way i still going to be extended more but for the mean time its enough to support the new trains. The general public can not go into subway yards or carhouses, Greenwood Shops is the exception as they are closed on...

Wilson complex is almost complete, there are minor issues with some technical stuff but nothing major. The little black boxes you see on some T1 cars are the actual speed mods that are used on the Sheppard line. When these cars are not on the Sheppard line and are used on the YUS line the...

    Toronto | 1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

The speed control will be on the YUS and the BD line soon, all the T1 cars that are on the Sheppard line are all on the speed control system. As the TR trains arrive and once WE have tested them and they pass OUR tests then and only then will the H series cars such as the H5 trains will be...

Work as a driver, I would seriously reconsider that option! Trust me you do not want to be a driver.

I have driven all the trains except the G trains as I wasn't yet employed by the TTC. So far I would have to say my fav train were the old Montrealers. With dual controls, those trains rocked. As for the streetcars I would have to say the PPC cars were great to drive also.

TTC had not stupidly insisted in ICTS from the begenning. ........are you sure it was the TTC who insisted? http://transit.toronto.on.ca/subway/5107.shtml

Hey how about this idea: put in streetcars like it was supposed to be in the first place ;) Tear out the tracks and pave it so we can put buses in there

Well considering 3 trucks are at Grenwood Shop to fix flat wheels I cant see how the new train is being tested at Wilson complex lol! Wilson Complex is still being finished so no repairs can be done and not one mechanic has been trained on them. The trains should be here sometime in August, with...
