Just want to clarify that my prediction should not be equated with an endorsement. The leaves are, unfortunately, ugly and tacky imo.

Now that the strip malls at the King-Dufferin intersection have been redeveloped, the City of Toronto should relocate this vehicle yard (maybe somewhere in the Stockyards?) and build some co-op housing buildings here with retail at grade to inject some life into this stretch. Right now it's a...

Predicting now that the Leaf design will be HEAVILY featured in those interstitial shots of the city skyline they show when they cut to commercials of a sports broadcast.

    Toronto Toronto | Jane and Finch Mall Redevelopment | 156.8m | 47s | Brad-Jay | BDP Quadrangle

The precise street layout notwithstanding, I think this plan should be applauded for completely replacing the mall and re-integrating the site into wider the street grid. A lot of the other mall redevelopments (STC for example) that plan to keep the mall are missing an opportunity to remake...

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

It would be such a miss to have the bike lanes down with the cars instead of up with the sidewalk. I visited Japan earlier this year and they have bike lanes painted or indicated with paving on big wide sidewalks, as opposed to separated from cars with paint and plastic bollards. Cyclists were...

I was hoping they would tear this building down or assemble it with some of the parcels next to it and build something a little more setback from the street. The corner is so tight and the traffic at this intersection is crazy.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Going slow for pedestrian safety is still faster than completely stopped because there are cars in your way. OL/subway along King or Queen would obviously be preferred, but this is something we could do tomorrow (and then improve/redesign/etc over time). We can't wait 15 years for a solution.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

My point is: just do it. If people don't like it, too bad. They'll get over it. Or they'll stay mad. I don't care If there is a driveway here or there, make an accommodation if its reasonable but it should be the exception not the rule. We keep falling all over ourselves to find reasons not to...

    Not with that attitude!

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Traffic wardens are welcome in the short term but it's not a long term solution. King needs to be redesigned.

    Toronto Toronto | 1540 Bloor West | 91.9m | 27s | Trinity Group | Arcadis

I remember speaking to Gord Perks about this years ago. I live in the area and he came to my door, campaigning for re-election. I asked him why, what looked to me like an interestingly designed tower, had been rejected. He rattled off something about how it's bad urban design to have a 30 storey...

How is it possible that this site has been sitting empty for 15 years? We're about to head into its second recession as a derelict eyesore and it's back up for sale?? We had the cheapest credit imaginable and a housing crisis but nobody could get shovels in the ground? It's on top of a subway...

Not on the West Island but underneath and incorporated into the entry pavilion on the western segment of the mainland side. It would also potentially effect the design of the Science Centre Pavillion, which also goes underground. Maybe it stays pretty much the same and you just don't dig as big...

https://x.com/ColinDMello/status/1732454694667091973?s=20 Given this news, do we think we can expect at least one more major redesign? Moving the parking has pretty big structural implications, no?

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

To be clear we're talking about 800,000 sq m --- 200 acres -- of land. That's bigger than the core of downtown (University to Yonge, Dundas to Front). The potential is not one spa or one casino or one cultural institution. The potential is there to build thousands if not hundreds of thousands of...

    Toronto Toronto | 11 Brock Avenue | 19.19m | 4s | City of Toronto | SvN

This is a great project and I support it but I'm curious if there is a rationale for only going 4 storeys here beyond a fear of heights. Is there something about the services required for supportive housing of this kind where it's preferential to only be a certain size or to limit the total...
