The Ottawa VIA station needs to transfer one of the parking lots (I suggest the west lot) into a true canopy intercity bus terminal with bays an an indoor heated connection to the LRT and the main station. It’s so close to becoming a true intermodal hub.

I feel like I’m at strip club reading announcements like this. We’re so close to weekend service all the way to Kitchener.

I like the idea of an alternating Northlander/ Sudbury service. That way North Bay gets daily service while Sudbury gets some days while Timmins/Cochrane get the others.

A sidewalk is good enough in the short term. If I can take a weekend trip to South River for a quick weekend gateway and have everything within walking distance of the train station (South River Brewing, BnB, trails, etc) I'll call that a win. With fewer people owning cars in Toronto, tourism...

It's really exciting to see this moving forward. With the station upgrades it'll be nice to see station stop enhancements that give a better sense of urbanism. So a concrete path to the sidewalk of the towns. A nice connection with the built environment will do wonders to make the station feel...

Up until 2010~ I would have considered Guelph and Peterborough to very similar cities, more or less. But introduced of GO, gradually service improvements, a condo boom fueled by people leaving Toronto for a "cheaper" cit but still close Guelph and the KWC region have become very popular. Guelph...

The easiest win right now would be to make Bus 17 run on the weekends. Why the Hamilton - Waterloo bus only does weekdays is beyond me. I've rode it before and it's very popular from Aldershot.

As a frequent skier, having a direct night train from Toronto to Quebec City would be great. I don't want to deal with the stress of driving (driving around Montreal at rush hour is bad enough). Go skiing then a day or two seeing the sights in Old Quebec. Leaves midnight ish - and arrives in...

As someone with family in SSM I love this idea. But it's too far. Not that it should never happen. ON taking over the bus routes is a great first step to gauge demand. Sudbury - North Bay has the population density and a large town in between - Sturgeon Falls.

That’s would be interesting. I’d rather Ontario Northland operate a Sudbury-North Bay - Toronto service that operates on the opposite days the Northlander will. The largest population centre in northern Ontario should have a semi daily connection to Toronto. The Canadian doesn’t count.
