    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

How often does this happen to you? I've taken the TTC for decades and never seen anyone pee/shoot up or been harassed.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

To provide some background data Vehicle registrations, 2021 The total number of road motor vehicles registered in Canada increased to 26.2 million in 2021, up 1.9% over 2020. The number of people living in Canada rose by 1.2%, or 457,888, to 38.5 million in 2021, according to Statistics...

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

Same as RBT, I know people who'd bike these rail trails to get to work.

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

Is B a factor? I haven't noticed much traffic police presence in the past few years. I feel drivers break the law with impunity as they don't expect to get caught. Not sure about C/D either. A is definitely a factor. I'd say the addition of bike lanes has added to pedestrian safety. Putting...

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

I have a few co-workers who have remarked that they get home on Sunday and don't leave until the following Saturday. Although those comments are from the suburbs, it wouldn't surprise me if that was replicated across a significant part of the population regardless of where they live. Who knows...

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

I didn't read the article but with all the WFH, aren't there way less pedestrians to hit? I wonder on a pedestrian per capita basis what the change is?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Can grids handle an influx of EVs? I've asked an engineering buddy that works transmission about this. The answer was yes, there is plenty of transmission capacity. many girds aren't clean enough to justify charging EVs Even with the upcoming changes, the grid in Ontario is pretty clean. Off...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I drove Eglinton Leslie to Bayview recently and was also pleasantly surprised that it's mostly cleaned up. The roads are mostly back to normal and even the stations are mostly done from the outside. The general appearance (Eglinton Connect aside) looks pretty much done in that section.

You could try an app like Pocket. I probably have thousands of articles saved to read.

Went outside today. You can see the tracks for cleaning up the bike lanes

    VIA Rail

Makes me think with all the WFH, will vehicle ownership go down? Many companies aren't requiring white collar workers to come at all and when you only go in 1 or 2 days, do you really need that second car?

    Parking - Catch All

At least in Toronto now due to the change in regulations, new condos don't have much of any parking at all.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure whatever city info I was sent didn't have that mentioned.

13 days later... still nothing (at least between University/Spadina)

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Now I understand what you meant. I was talking about the redevelopment at Albion (right at the LRT). I was referring to the the same Tridel, I know someone that lives there and it's definitely not luxury.
  16. T

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Developers can't put *luxury* condos in this area. That means that the No Frills and Dollarama stays. If you look at the condos around Woodbine Centre, the demographics stay the same. Isn't it 2 vehicles to downtown? Finch LRT > Line 1 ?

    Zoning Reform Ideas

It is unfortunate that the author and the counselor interviewed don't know that this type of regulation exists in Toronto.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'll assume most of the people on the forum are men and the perspective of the other 50% of the population is missing. I was at a dinner party recently with mostly women and the topic of the subway travel came up. Many of the women mentioned how they fear taking the subway and urged the others...

TTC: Bloor Danforth Line 2 West Extension(s)

All the documents are online and you can find plenty of info on this site. You can find everything you want to know about the last updated plans with a little digging

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

My commute is north south (as far north as Bloor) and I don't think about the elevation at all. It would be different if I was commuting north of Dupont, in which case I would get an ebike.
