    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Anyone know the situation with the College street reconstruction in regards to bike lanes? I walk by the street (although don't look closely). It appears that the streetcar track reconstruction went speedily and at the same time I see no sign of bike lane upgrades. The whole project is supposed...

    Parliament Streetcar

If I'm stating this correctly, the bus loop is essentially a bridge and that bridge currently cannot hold the weight of the streetcars. I'd assume with $ that could be addressed though.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

https://www.blogto.com/sports_play/2022/11/toronto-new-soccer-stadium-2026-fifa-world-cup/ Could we get that extension to Woodbine now?

Problematic Park Design - Why Some Parks Don't Work

I'm downtown focused - The Lilian H Smith and Fort York libraries have children's programming which can be good to take the kids to. I'm not so sure about the best libraries to take the kids at any random time. I'd probably take them to the reference library so they could run around 🤣

Problematic Park Design - Why Some Parks Don't Work

For the hype around it, I'd say it's a 'good' park, not a great park. We do occasionally visit it but I think the kids have a better time at the park west of Davisville station.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I think the original comment is referring to the TTC board members and your comment is about general ridership?

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I don't believe there is an open reason. I believe the contractor has said they can do phased but Metrolinx said no.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Michael Ford asked for a report on the possibility of going to Woodbine as councillor. Don't know what happened there. You could ask the new council member for the status.

TTC: Automatic Train Control and Subway Platform Screen Doors

I rode Line 1 on the weekend and I think OPTO was in operation. Can say that the trains were smoother and seemed frequent. By frequent, I mean frequent for a weekday off peak, let alone a weekend morning.

Ontario Line North of Eglinton (was Relief Line North) (Speculation)

At least on the specific issue of digging up the intersection, Metrolinx may choose to keep the line elevated just as at Don Mills/Eglinton making it easier to expand.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Let's get back to the topic. Further discussion on this topic could go to https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/ttc-other-items-catch-all.20264/ ?

    The Coming Disruption of Transport

The way I use google maps, the transit time is source to destination while the driving time is more like taking a taxi (a self-driving taxi! :p). You may not be parking near your actual destination (or even drive around for parking) and that isn't the actual driving experience. For me it's...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

People I know who prefer not to use to the TTC due to safety issues (largely due to the mentally ill) prefer the surface routes as they don't want to potentially trapped in a station with the assailant. Cameras/TTC staff do not prevent crime from happening. On surface transit, the driver is...

    The Coming Disruption of Transport

Completely agree with this. I add another few minutes when I compare against driving time. They don't include the time for actually getting in the car and settling in, especially if you have kids and gotta get them in their car seats, etc. That can be another 10 minutes right there. Then, like...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I haven't looked into it yet but 1 billion /km sounds expensive

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Haven't heard anything on Finch since this came out. Don't think the political will is there for this. The extension to Woodbine is also mentioned in there.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I tried to find the comparable for the SSE and couldn't verify any #s. Hurontario LRT construction cost is about $116m/km. All in costs are different for these projects and can't be compared directly for that reason. IIRC, Hurontario includes the maintenance facility + vehicles while the SSE...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

There is no plan at the moment. It was a part of Transit City a long time back.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The construction costs for Finch/Hurontario are a bit over $100M/km. From UT: "In April, Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx had selected a consortium, Mosaic Transit Group, as their preferred proponent for the project. This week, Mosaic reached commercial and financial close to design...
