Doesn't stop other cities from giving a damn above the podium

    John Street Revitalization

They finally decided to paint lines while we wait for this ‘revitalization’. Literally been years of just lawlessness. Maybe next year they’ll get to north of Adelaide.

I’m gonna hold judgement till more of it is done, but check out that street wall! Any ideas what’s going to take that huge ground floor space?

Wishing it was invisible from everywhere..

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

I know it’s pretty mum regarding Peter and Adelaide but are you able to confirm if a store is still going there? Or perhaps the basement of Metro Hall? This area is literally starving for a full size grocery store and with 5 more towers being occupied by next year it’s only going to get worse.

    Toronto Bike Share

What’s wild is that both Apple and Google maps have all the stations mapped and includes a view of bike and dock availability… they’re just hidden so deeply it’s not convenient to surface

My memory is a bit fuzzy but I’m surprised I haven’t seen more shots from this angle. Reminiscent of the now lost TD Centre/Mies viewport. Though this is a bit more Spandrel Centre than TD.

The renders only showed the crown and maybe a couple more spaced out strips along the tower being lit with the horizontal lights. The edges of the entire building will have lights though, wonder if it’s RGB lighting also.

Honestly I just imagine it’s its own separate construction, it even looks visually distinct. The one good thing about that podium is the money they saved from value engineering it probably saved more cuts from happening to the actual tower.

I’ve also seen a vintage blue truck in the lobby of Metro Hall, not sure if it’s an actual retail store though

Gotta disagree, the King St jersey barriers also look horrendous. We just need to stop utilizing temporary structures as permanent infrastructure. Once we’ve proven the need for a barrier we should work on design and funding for a purpose built structure. This go for the bikes lanes on Adelaide...

Making those changes brings it pretty much on par with 252 Church. Though all IBI/Arcadis buildings tend to share a very similar design language.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

No, Apple devices also have Express Transit where you can tap without unlocking for transit terminals. I’ve been doing this daily with my Apple Watch on the streetcars since they turned it on. Only on the subway fare gates does this not work, yet

    Toronto Toronto | Maverick | 154.53m | 49s | Empire | Arcadis

This was actually taken on August 16. But realized a photo of the back alley without scaffolding hasn’t been posted yet. I’m just surprised they carried the brick panels from the front to the back

Heard good things about Friday Burger Company in the food court foodhall!

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

. Okay the companies haven’t made it easy for me to not mixup. So to confirm: iPhones can also pay with credit cards without unlocking with Express Transit and as of right now that seems to be enabled for all the Presto readers except the subway fare gates (which apparently is coming in Sept...
