  1. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | The United BLDG | 184.85m | 54s | Davpart | B+H

I'm still surprised that the smaller brick building didn't qualify for retention. Considering some of the 'heritage' buildings in the city that are far less unique; they are often defended with significant effort by the city and locals.
  2. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG

Agreed, it was a pleasant surprise but unfortunately I took that shot during a weekend stay at the Delta Toronto.
  3. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Yes, if you look at the first picture Benito posted the crane is hoisting one section in place for the height increase. Looks like the TG-2300 will be around longer than anticipated!
  4. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 400 Front Street | 195.75m | 59s | State Building Group | Kirkor Architects

Reminds me of (with the exception of Zaha Hadid's 1000 Museum) the glass towers along Biscayne Boulevard in Miami. In other words, doesn't belong in a pedestrian oriented neighborhood.
  5. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG

The amount of times they've switched cranes on this project is wild
  6. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Freed Hotel & Residences | 219m | 63s | Freed | AS + GG

I mean, this project is designed by the same architect who designed the Burj Khalifa and split off from SOM during its construction 😉 With that said, I feel that AS+GG aren't getting the attention they deserve here. We're talking about the same designers behind the tallest residential tower in...
  7. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | The Rosedale on Bloor | 185.92m | 55s | Gupta | Arcadis

Looks like they have an obligation to get the hotel open on schedule but not the tower for the actual residents...
  8. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Toronto House | 186.53m | 58s | Westbank | Hariri Pontarini

Agreed. Although the logistics of both sites makes for difficult builds, this project seems to be moving as expected given the complexities of a tiny staging area, façade retention, and slim footprint.
  9. NorthshoreCity

    Mississauga Toronto | M4 at M City | 215.6m | 67s | Rogers Real Estate | Core Architects

Looks like they're on track to match a release date with this M4 😉 All jokes aside from the BMW /M performance namesake of this development I'm still impressed at the pace to which they've sold units; exciting times for MCC! https://www.caranddriver.com/bmw/m4
  10. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle Lakeside (Phase 1) | 174.86m | 54s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

There will be two separate projects for that site, one at Queens Quay & Richardson dubbed Quay House; https://urbantoronto.ca/database/projects/quay-house And another for the remainder of the site along QQ to Sherbourne with the address of 180 Queens Quay East...
  11. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Peter and Adelaide | 152.39m | 47s | Graywood | BBB

The pace of this project is impressive! Looking back on these images a year ago it's amazing to think that they demo'd, excavated and reached grade in a matter of 12 months even with COVID-19 delays stacked against them.
  12. NorthshoreCity

    Service Centre (2462 Dufferin @ Roselawn, Audi, 2s, ?)

I'm still surprised they used a tower crane to construct a 2 storey Audi service center, but the real (pleasant) surprise of this project is that they maintained all of the existing trees on the site. If only we could've seen this kind of care being taken for other larger projects like The...
  13. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Time and Space Condos | 101.8m | 29s | Pemberton | Wallman Architects

Perfect analogy, this project is an absolute unit. Even in the renderings the streetscape doesn't look all that inviting. Despite the materiality being somewhat varied the street-wall presence will be significant.
  14. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 805 Don Mills Road | 154m | 48s | CreateTO | Montgomery Sisam

Somethings not adding up here, perhaps they meant 25 stories (86M) instead of 52 and 28 stories (104M)?
  15. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Exactly what I was thinking! This gives me high hopes for the Sky Tower. Especially when it comes down to the architectural diagrid based on the aluminum column covers shown in the photos above.
  16. NorthshoreCity

    Mississauga Toronto | M3 at M City | 260.29m | 77s | Rogers Real Estate | Arcadis

Exactly - the generally accepted building height standard comes from the CTBUH which defines a supertall as such: via: https://www.ctbuh.org/resource/height
  17. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Yes it is for the 95 storey Sky Tower.
  18. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Water's Edge at the Cove | 182.26m | 56s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects

Awesome time lapse! (the electro swing was also a good choice 👌)
